take_flight: scandalrag: take_flight: scandalrag: Clearly subby doesn't understand the concept of a witness list.  If the case is in court and someone is going to testify for the prosecution, the defense knows it well before the trial.  Darn that pesky Sixth Amendment!

My son had to testify at Grand Jury in a sexual abuse case, (the victim is his friend), and the entire hearing was done in secret. The accused and his attorney had no idea who testified or what they said.

A Grand Jury is not court, so the Sixth Amendment doesn't come into play.  But be sure, if the Grand Jury indicts, the defense will have your son's name and a copy of his testimony the next day.

What I'm saying is that in the article it stated that trial is set for September, so any testifying that has been done must have been done at Grand Jury, so therefore the defendants or their attorney's would not have anyone's names yet. Plus, this guy was an informant which I believe may be different. It has been over a month since my son testified and we have heard nothing. He was basically dragged in there because he was scared, but I don't think his name will ever be revealed because he is a minor. All witnesses were kept in separate rooms. The entire Grand Jury process was explained, and it's way different than trial.

Trial's set for Sept, but they are already indited and under arrest.  Lawyers likely already have all the info and are preparing their defense.

mllawso: Mangoose: You do understand that outing an informant involved GIVING THE farkING PERSON'S NAME AWAY?!?!?!?!

No, it means giving out information that can be used to identify the informant. "Sanitation Worker" narrows it down a lot.

Don't be disrepectful!
His proper title is "garbage carter"

The informant was the second person posting in this Fark thread. Their IP address is www.xxx.yyy.zzz. They live at  xxx Main St. Bronx, NY Their telephone number is ...

Nowhere in the above info do I give away your name but I bet you would consider that you where outed if Guido the killer pimp showed up at your doorstep looking to break your legs.

I wish the government would quit persecuting honest businessmen just because of their Italian heritage. I mean, with 530 hours of recorded conversations, you can edit that to sound like anything. For instance, if Papa Smurf said he wanted one of his associates to "clip" a business rival, he could have just been talking about football. And declaring plans to "muscle in" on new "turf" might refer to a weekend gardening project.

Abe Vigoda's Ghost: 2 Hookers and an 8 Ball: Still, it sounds like they gave away some identifying information, like that fact that the informant used to run M&C Waste services. They narrows down the list of people to off quite a bit I'd think.

Oh great.  And now you too?

Huh?
