god if I was wealthy enough I would go exterminate the shiat outta the bedbugs for them.

Had em once, would never want anyone else to have to deal with them.

The Caged Men of Mong Kok again. Damn.

They're toilet trained.  They can provide companionship and entertainment.  If we can take them to a vet and euthanize them when they're not fun anymore I might have my next business venture.

I think it might be cool to have my own cage.

...Well, at least a box.

Do they have electricity/plumbing/internet?

But Mon Kok has such lovely markets and pubs.

2013-02-07 11:46:54 AM
or, y'know, they could move somewhere else. somewhere that's not an insanely crowded hugely expensive place to live. whatever works best for them, i guess.

If anybody's familiar with the previous squalor of Kowloon known as the walled city you'll realize this is a downgrading in living conditions.

And while you're at it, check out Hooverville at the time of the Great US Depression. Lovely.

What's so sad about the cagemen situation is that it was highlighted decades ago - there's even a film made about them - but this insistence in allowing Mainlanders to cross over to HK and use up its hospital and other government resources doesn't help. They do it illegally and as such gaining a quasi-immigrant status that goes only to hurt the local economy further. They really should be more stringent in their efforts to quell the Mainland influx. Attracting rich mainlanders in the way of visas has been a double-edged sword.

What China and other large nations need to implement is another one-child policy, except this time, after they have their child, they undergo mandatory sterilization (for free). I am 100% serious. This is happening because there's too many goddamn people on earth. Since people are too farking stupid to keep their legs closed it's time to force it on them.

I agree. Those who would say that it's a horrible thing fail to realize that the alternative is even worse. Nature will eventually take care of it herself.

What's worse? Telling the breeders to get another hobby, or a global plague that leaves a few billion rotting bodies, millions of shattered families, and dozens of desperate, broken nations?

Interesting headline, Subby. So the medical disease of depression can be cured by insults and unrelated comparisons? You. You're good.

What next, going to tell cancer patients to walk it off because whole island nations are disappearing due to global warming?

Farking ignorant prick.

How were they? I thought it was one of the most appalling things I have ever seen. There were two gentlemen in cages on either side of the stage with fake Uzis, there were - Jesus, it was unbelievable. And when I see somebody who's wearing one of their shirts, I think that they're scum too.

from the article:  "Some 100,000 people in the former British colony live in what's known as inadequate housing"

Really? is that what it's called?  I'm glad they cleared that up for me.  I wasn't quite sure what the meaning of "inadequate housing" was.  Thank you AP.

population density of China: 141 people/km^2
population density of urban Hong Kong: 35.700 people/km^2
population density of the USA: 34 people/km^2

i think the problem has more to do with too many people living in Hong Kong than too many people living on Earth.
