I don't think inserting a "joke" would be what Elton is thinking...

Hmm...wonder if Nick Oliveri will still play naked when he's around.

I'm guessing it will be another noxious overplayed turd like 'No One Knows'...

Current fad with popular rock bands. Have Elton John write a song or play on your record. It shows you're not a homophobic, increases fan base, and get's more press about your band.

Elton John is one the most powerful gay celebrities in the world. He's mega rich, married, has kids, happy and stable. All the things homophobes despise/wish they had. And then there's all that great music he made.

When I last saw Queens a few years ago, I did enjoy how Josh introduced that song:

"This song sucks, but we're gonna play it anyway"

Godscrack: It shows you're not a homophobic

I don't think Queens of the Stone Age, a band with a well-known naked bass player, has any problems with being viewed as homophobic.

If you like Elton John, you should listen to

Elton John vs. Pnau

Also applies for hate radio talkers' weddings. Can we just face the fact that Elton John is a shameless whore?

He also provided vocals for Kanye's "All of the Lights."  Dude isn't as out of touch as most of his peers.

Queens of the Yellow Brick Road.  Duh.  Just drop everything a 6th to get back into his old man vocal range.

I'd been avoiding Queens of the Stone Age music because I assumed they were homophobic. Now I'll give them am listen.

Recommend any similar music, I like them crooked vultures as well.

I've really tried to like Queens of the Stone Age but I just don't care for it.  I don't know if it's the dude's voice or the style of guitar, or just the arrangement of the songs.  Something.

You see, it's funny because Elton John is a homosexual, and has enjoyed anal coitus from time to time. HAR.

WhiskeySticks: Hmm...wonder if Nick Oliveri will still play naked when he's around.

Oliveri left the band several years ago. Michael Shuman plays bass for the band now.

Shut your whore mouth. Okay, you're right. "Burn the Witch" and "The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret" are two much better songs.

You know he did that to troll the gay community? He said he knew they wouldn't agree to him doing that.

Basically he used Rush, not the other way around.

If you read the Playboy interview with Elton John, he said that Rush was really nice and that they are friends, Rush even sent Elton and his husband a card when they had their baby.

Wait. Are you talking about Rush the band, or Rush Limbaugh, the radio asshat?

11-17-70 is one of the greatest live rock albums ever made by anyone, in my opinion.

He might've gotten Disneyfied later on in his career, but Elton is one mega-talented mofo.

if you are asking for recommendations based upon liking QotSA and TCV then check out these other Josh Homme bands

The Eagles of Death Metal
Kyuss

And if you like Kyuss and Queens of the Stone Age, checkout Fu Manchu (favorite album is Godzilla's/Eatin Dust)

Also, you clearly like Stoner and Desert rock (if you enjoy my suggestions) so use that genre as your jumping off point

I highly recommend all of John Garcia's various projects

Slo Burn (defunct)
Unida (defunct)
Hermano (still active)

...I love that song. I guess I'm the only one? I don't play it on repeat, but if it comes on my iPod during shuffle mode I don't skip it, and I enjoy every second of bass.

It's not totally awful, but it's not great, and it's easily the weakest song on that solid-gold album.

Dozer (from Sweden) is also quite nice.  They started off as a Kyuss sound-alike band but evolved into their own amazing entity.

Actually, Oliveri had recorded at least one track for the upcoming album.

The members of Kyuss Lives! have also changed their name to Vista Chino and said they have new material for 2013.

I can't wait for this thing to come out. I hope it isn't a let down. All the 'guest' spots make me a little nervous, even though most have already played with the band. For some reason, it spooks me just a bit.

This might be good. Was not looking forward to McCartney with the surviving members of nirvana and I ended up loving the fark out of it.

Is Kyuss Lives/VC any good? It's hard to imagine that the band is anywhere near as good without Homme.

I saw Kyuss Lives! twice during 2011 and it felt great to hear that music live again.  I feel like John, Brant, Nick, and Bruno have been re-inspired by the recent live shows and I hope that translates well in the studio.  I wish Reeder and Homme could somehow overcome their difficulties with the other guys and at least do one or two tracks on the VC album.
