(Huffington Post)   Will the show be as funny and topical without Dan Harmon? Will Annie's Boobs show us Annie's boobs? Will Chevy Chase's character get the Charlie Harper treatment? It's FINALLY back, for real -- "Community", Season 4 premiere, 8 PM EST, NBC   ( ) divider line 9

The "Don't ask. Don't tell." joke was the worst joke in the history of the show.  I actually cringed.  And it ends the main plot with the Dean saying, "I don't know why I was so worried about change!" Really? That's about as subtle as a 2 x 4 to the face, and corny, to boot.

Andy Greenwald's review was spot on.  The characters have been "Stepfordized.". A show that once demanded your full attention for all it's brilliant little details is now broad, mild entertainment you can passively watch while you play on your iPad.

Here's the review I'm referring to bc- community

The ending was especially strong:

"Now it's a show about playing out the string and meeting corporate quotas. It's decent ventriloquism; it's passable karaoke. In its final-- and they will be final--episodes, Community isn't terrible. It's just terribly pointless. It turns out that the darkest timeline isn't the one in which Pierce is shot or Jeff loses his arm. It's the one where nothing bad happens at all."
