If I were the U.S. Embassy I'd respond with something like...

"Given that isn't how American democracy works, it would probably be easier for Thailand to "purge" the disproportionate amount of corrupt officials turning a blind eye to the horrifying levels of human trafficking that occur in your globally notorious sex industry."

Hey, has anyone mentioned Thailand's sex industry yet?  Because I don't know if the article or the SNL sketch addressed that.

There is a reason that sexual tourism thrives there, and it isn't because the guys are there for the food and say "hey, whaddya know?  Whores!  Ladyboy whores!"  Criminal enterprises thrive under corrupt regimes.

The food is amazing, though.  Just don't insult their monarch.
