If I were the U.S. Embassy I'd respond with something like...

"Given that isn't how American democracy works, it would probably be easier for Thailand to "purge" the disproportionate amount of corrupt officials turning a blind eye to the horrifying levels of human trafficking that occur in your globally notorious sex industry."

Who cares..... I'd just throw my hands up in the air and say Phuket.

There is a reason that sexual tourism thrives there, and it isn't because the guys are there for the food and say "hey, whaddya know?  Whores!  Ladyboy whores!"  Criminal enterprises thrive under corrupt regimes.

The food is amazing, though.  Just don't insult their monarch.

Makes me wonder if Uncle Sam keeps track of guys who make frequent trips to Thailand and move them to the top of the "check out this guy's harddrive" list.

Ya, when they get rid of their underage sex-tourism trade then we'll talk about what they think is appropriate or not.

I think I read an article, probably on fark, a few years back, that they were doing that and making arrests for people who participated in "sex tourism"

There was a crazy co-worker thread on Reddit a year ago or so where a crazy woman used to brag that her husband only surfed porn so he could delete it from the internet.

As much as I love Thailand, when I was there it was really quite disturbing just how many creepy looking middle age and older Western men were wandering around with very young looking Thai women. The Thai government really needs to crack down on that.

They're getting their cut, why would they?

Hey, has anyone mentioned Thailand's sex industry yet?  Because I don't know if the article or the SNL sketch addressed that.

It's cute that you think they were women.

Creepy western men don't just go to Thailand for lady boys, a lot more of them go because they want to have sex with underage girls.

So, you just don't like an older man banging away on a younger woman, but a younger man paying for the same thing is ok? It sounds less like you are against sex tourism and more against the ickyness of older men getting their freak on....

Every time I hear a Shane Company ad with ol' Tom bragging about his monthly trips to Thailand I got grossed out.

The next version should have Rush Limbaugh learning Dominican Spanish.

"Yo soy Santa Claus! Ven por tus regalos, muchachos!"

/Not really a Spanish speaker, but I can use Translate apps.
//I'm sure those are hilariously wrong.

2013-02-07 06:53:07 PM
Yeah, definitely wrong. I'm sure there's a Spanish word for  Scissor as a verb.

Maybe they should have their shiathead king, "Tom" Bhumibol Adulyadej, stick his jug-eared, mealy-mouthed mug into the fray and fark it up like he has everything else in his overlong two-bit so-called reign.

You know what I can say that a Thai citizen can't?

"Your monarchy sucks, and so do your thousands of cheaply retained ladyboys".

Here's a hint: Rename your main resort town from "Phuket" to "Don't Phuket".
