"The fact of the matter is before Hurricane Sandy started, Obama was trailing Mitt Romney," Morris said, "in Gallup, in Rasmussen, in virtually all of the major polls because he had lost the first debate, not recovered in the second, and got a little bit better in the third. Nobody could tell the impact of Sandy. Fifteen percent of the voters made up their minds in the last 72 hours [before the election]. They cited Sandy as number one."

actually, Obama was leading Romney long before the hurricane was even announced.  this had nothing to do with hurricanes, it had everything to do with flawed GOP polling data and Romney's sheer incompetence.

He may want to go back there, but I'm not.

STFU, Dick, you toe sucking freak.  And take your grating Jewish nana voice with you.

Morris doesn't want to believe Obama was legitimately ahead in the polls.  he can't wrap his head around that concept.

I keep reading that headline as "Dick Morris will not go quietly, continues to blame Romney loss on Orlando Magic Weather Machine", which actually makes as much sense as whatever really does burble out of Morris' mouth.

2013-02-07 10:25:45 AM
You can blame it on Lord Voldemort in collusion with Alf if you like. Romney still got his ass kicked.

2013-02-07 10:26:03 AM
Somebody please explain this to me:

Dick Morris started out as one of Bill Clinton's minions.  Then he went down in flames.  He re-emerged as a Fox News minion.  How the fark did that happen since no libruls are allowed at Faux News?

2013-02-07 10:26:25 AM
He's finished anyway.

Now he can join Sarah Palin in the bargain bins.

Especially because if there were such a thing, it too would be dysfunctional.

2013-02-07 10:33:45 AM
So, he first goes "It's all Hurricane Sandy's fault", and then finishes with...

Morris, changing the subject, said Obama won because of a "fundamental demographic shift" in the United States.

"The Republican Party has got to change in fundamental ways," he concluded. "Otherwise, it will never win another election."

Um, if you believe that dude, then that had nothing to do with Sandy, dumbass.

So he's trying to regain the Tea Party's trust?

So where I work, CNN is usually on, but muted. I work graveyard and CNN is in Talkshow-loop mode, I usually ignore it. However last night, I glanced up, and swore Piers Morgan was interviewing the Ghost of Benny Hill.

When I realized who it actually was, I was sad for a moment.

/am only chick I know who laughed at Benny Hill
//Suspects Benny was wayyyy less pervy than Dick Morris

All of the polls which Morris referred to had the largest biases.
Keep choking that chicken.

The longer the GOP continues to ignore reality, the better for the nation and the world.

Dick Morris isn't a librul.  He is an opportunist windbag without a single shred of human decency.  Perfect for Faux News.

I would have never imagined that Hurricane Sandy would have produced a demographic shift which would help the democrats. You'd think a flood, which would require the survivors to be able to swim, would have helped Republicans.

Fallacy of false cause
Fallacy of false cause or non sequitur: incorrectly assumes one thing is the cause of another. Non Sequitur is Latin for "It does not follow."

Dick knows this, he's just a liar who went too far.
No surprise a professional liar would lie to defend his lies.

ya know, at this point I don't WANT to convince the GOP that they've f*cked up.  in fact, I want to encourage the Republicans to double down on their derp.  ignore reality guys!  keep believing that you've done nothing wrong, and that 'low information' voters got scammed by Obama.  don't change your platform, keep insulting the 47%, and above all PLEASE keep listening to Rush limbaugh and the rest of the GOP pundit class!

I think what republicans are pissed off about is that Obama wasn't criticized immediately after Sandy. They thought this was going to ruin him, they still don't get why Bush was criticized after Katrina. They thought all the complaints and criticism was purely partisan, because to them that's all there is. So they thought oh good a hurricane we will be able to take advantage of all the destruction and blame it on Obama, when the Feds responded well to the storm and the Obama bashing was nonexistent they couldn't believe it.

Dick Morris is always wrong about everything.

I want to follow Dick Morris around doing the opposite of everything he says. I figure I can get rich inside of a month.

So doesn't that mean that god wanted Obama to win?

Obama lost white voters to Romney by 20 points and he *still* won the election handily.

Republicans who can count past ten without taking their shoes off are scared shiatless of that fact.

The white vote is no longer the end all and be all in deciding American elections.

Time machine, Hurricane machine. A lair in Washington behind stone walls, with an army. He is the perfect movie villain. Or Dick might just not want to admit that he's bet on a losing horse...

Ding ding ding. Romney was easily the worst major party presidential candidate of my nearly 30 years on this planet and he was backed by a party that wishes it was the early 1800s. It was a recipe for disaster, if you're a Republican.

2013-02-07 11:46:26 AM
Maybe because Obama's strategy was "try being a good president" and the GOP's was "sensationalist vote grab!"

annnnnd much to their surprise, we aren't actually a nation of complete idiots

Keep blaming everything and everyone else for your loses GOP.  Don't make any efforts to change your ways.  I promise you that if you don't change at all, your 2016 presidential candidate will win with an EC score of 538-0.

I am a republican and voted for Fartbongo. May have been convinced to vote Huntsman but by the time the primary got to PA there was no viable candidate I could vote for
