The only thing that would have made it better would be if the chunk of tree fell on the car.

I'm impressed - this happened less than 12 hours ago.

The dash cam footage alone should qualify Russia for their own tag.

I'd say that Russian around in a hurry causes 75 percent of the accidents in Moscow. Slow down my freinds

i'm not an expert but i'd say high speed and poor road conditions caused the accident.

If you re-watch it, the driver caused her to drop her papers, or possibly home-work.  She wasn't gonna help that jerk who trashed her home-work. Now she's totally in trouble with her teachers.

I don't think she dropped those papers. It looks like she was carrying a backpack that got hit by the car.

They probably aren't that bad compared to everyone else. It's just that they have dashcams recording everything. I bet if we all had dashcams, we'd get a flood of American bad drivers too.

That's Russia, man. They don't care, They're just annoyed at the delay. At most they'd get out and slap the guy for causing the accident.

Sweet memories of New Jersey in the winter. We lived on a slight slope and the road was curved. Had at least one car on the sidewalk every year. The best was one of my sister's friends who tried to make the turn into our driveway and end up getting T-boned by a parked car. Slide sideways into its rear-end.

Hey, this is Fark, stop making sense.

"Speeding" by itself doesn't cause accidents. People going too fast for conditions can result in accidents, ultimately caused by a drivers bad decision to drive too fast for those conditions.

Accident? Check.
Death or injury or near miss? Check.

What struck me was how quickly the driver engaged the hazard flashers after hitting the tree.  Is that something that automatically happens when the airbags deploy?

I was thinking the same thing in that "F-150 jumps bajillion feet" video from the other day.  I'm starting to think yes?

Actually, the hazard lights in Russian cars are on a dead man switch.  They automatically turn on if a collision doesn't happen every five minutes.

Yeah, they're automatic in some cars. A few cars will also do things like flash your hazards if you brake hard enough.

Almost the exact same thing happened to me when walking home from school. Except that the idiot flipped his car. As I was checking him get out, hoping that he was dead, I found him crying that his dad just gave him the car on Friday (it was a Monday)
I thoroughly enjoyed his discomfort. Asshole came within feet of smashing me into the ditch.

Aren't you the "cell phone lane" guy from the thread about the surprise car jumping over the median? I was waiting for you to blame the girl for walking down the street at an unacceptable speed or something.

Glad you've started making sense.

Don't you helium heads realise what you've just seen?

The car completely demolishes the bag she was carrying, basically turns it into a gaping maw with a hand strap.

A4 contents strewn in front of her.

Yet the car completely misses her.

uberaverage: Don't everybody rush to help all at once!

This is one instance where I can totally forgive a witness for not "rushing to help." That chick was contemplating her death just then. That is as close as it gets. She met the fricken Grim Reaper.... but then he suddenly realised he had to be at the gym in 26 minutes.

I also sensed she was contemplating how farking unbelievably lucky she was, so much so that she then moved on to some contemplating on whether she had imagined what had just happened. I also noticed *just* a pinch of introspective "Look at me farking bag, willya? Awww, and my freaken notes are hither and yon all over the dirty sludgy snow. Just great."

I would be surprised if that car missed her thighs by less than an inch.

I guess I just do not feel sorry for people who drive like complete idiots, beg for it, then get it...

/saw someone fly by me on the interstate and as soon as I thought, 'that idiot is going to wind up upside down in the center of the highway or over the guardrail' (there was ice and black ice everywhere) he lost it, went sideways, apparently hit a dry patch and flipped it a good 6 times. Completely destroyed a new, jacked up, tricked out Nissan or Toyota or some foreign thing.

That driver is really lucky he didn't kill her.
