MightyPez: So are we going to get some more Heaven's Gate mass suicides? Anyone taking bets?

I'm thinking about attempting to sell a worthless product that will protect people from the evil luck brought by the comet. Trying to decide if it'll be rocks containing "dust" from the first time the comet passed through the solar system. Or maybe just some cheesy talisman blessed by a monk or something. Given how superstitious Thai people are (as I live in Thailand), I could quite possibly make some good cash off of this. :D

What about re-branding those phony cell phone antenna boosters as "personal comet force fields"?  The more people buy them, the stronger the forcefield is!  Help save humanity, only $4.99.

Fools.  I'll be selling dehydrated water because the comet will steal all our water.  Only people with dehydrated water will survive after the comet passes.

You must broaden your gaze! If the late 80s taught me anything, it's that close-passing comets emit a radiation that will turn most of humanity into zombies. The proper grift here is special "comet-glasses" that will prevent absorption of this meteoric radiation through the eyes, averting zombification.

Now who is short sighted?  You fight radiation with radiation.  I'll be selling radioactive containers that you can fill with water.  Just drink from it every day and I guarantee you won't turn into a zombie or your money back!!!!

If you act now, I will throw in radioactive dishes and utensils.  And that's not all, a radioactive toilet seat and pillow.

Mind is so mind-boggling big and empty and yet our little blue planet is constantly bombarded with near miss objects. This is either a malevolent attack from very far away - possible a bug planet - or God is spitballing us.

With all the people that spent all their money before the 2012 "Apocalypse" and so on, it is so tempting just to set up a website along the lines of "Send all your money to me and I will stop the coming apocalypse" and see how much money you can make off it.

Yup, it's karma come back to bite us.  Note what imaged this--Deep Impact.  Therefore I class this as a Torino 8.
