Well, that's the end of his job on the BBC if he's going to be in Hollywood.

Well, honestly, the 50th year should probably be his last.

After 4 years or so, it's just time for a new Doctor and Producer.

So... Bring on the Twelfth Doctor!

Who is "The Doctor"? Is this some sort of Doc Hollywood thing reference?

*clicks*

Oh, Dr. Who? I think my parents watched that once in a while in the 80's.

Seems every time the Doctor regenerates, he gets a bit younger.  So, who will be the young actor to portray him next, Andrew Garfield?  He has the hair.

If they really want to break Doctor Who into American audience they need to consider getting an American actor. I was thinking Justin Bieber.

Good for Matt Smith.  He's an excellent actor and I've thoroughly enjoyed his portrayal of the Doctor and I wish him well.

I hate you.  Like a butterfly subtly changing the course of the wind and causing a storm to veer towards land years later, the faintest wisp of an idea once created can float across universes and eventually find its way to realization.  Now, thanks to you, somewhere there is a TARDIS stamped with JB and trimmed in black and purple leather transporting an insufferable little prick through time and space.  He still has companions, only instead of being clever and helpful, they are generally equally insufferable waifs.  He doesn't actually help anyone, and he only stays in one place until there is trouble, at which point he says "seeya biatches", hops in his ship and leaves.  So thanks, thanks a lot.

I think he'll be around for another series or two. He's young and he loves the job. Look at Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman - they're both breaking into Hollywood in a big way, but they're both still committed to Sherlock for the forseeable future.

Also - this movie sounds weird as fark, and I want to see it.

"Story is set against the surreal dreamscape of a vanishing city and centered on a single mother of two being swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town. Production is set to start this spring ."

So, it's going to be the highly anticipated and long overdue live action Zork movie.

There's still the other universe Tennant Doctor that was with Rose.

Also, the Doctor Donna thing was great. I hated her at first, but I grew to enjoy her a bit. As much as I like the play with the Ponds, I really miss Donna for some reason.

Also, this movie sounds....intriguing. I think that's the word I'm looking for.

The US might give the world a lot of crap but we're not responsible for that twat. Canada is.

IF we're going on the theory that each regeneration is getting younger & younger then I vote for Robert Sheehan. I'm not 100% sure he can pull off some of the more serious stuff but he is a decent comedic actor.

Cool. The 12th Doctor can visit da Vinci as he paints the ceiling of the Sixteenth Chapel.

It'd be neat if they'd do the 50th with the 12th Doctor, have another season with #11, then regenerate into the 12th... not that this really relates to the topic at hand, but just a thought...

9/10. Subtle, anti-American, and a nice variation on an old meme. Would have been perfect if it was a bit more infuriating.

I like it in theory. But it can't happen, if for no other reason than that the entire focus of fans would be on 12, and there would be a months-long raging debate about him, to the detriment of the last Smith season.

/I hope Smith sticks around for a while

Still liked him better than Smith, more personality and darker emotions showing upfront (especially in the episode "Dalek"), instead of having The Doctor be happy go lucky until something really badly goes wrong.

Eccleston's Doctor was fresh (and freshly regenerated) from the Time War. He was bound to be darker, and remember we had bouncy-wouncy Tennant in between. Plus Smith's Doctor is several dozen to several hundred years (depending on when you catch him) further from the war in his own timeline, so he's had some time to come to terms.

/and Smith was pretty gloomy while morning the loss of his friends in "The Snowman" until a perky little brunette came along to light his fire

Why the hell are you discussing Doctors?  Whether or not the movie sucks is completely irrelevant.  Christina Hendricks and Eva Mendes!
