2013-02-06 11:55:59 PM
Ryan Lochte's not on the list?

Michael Vick, yes?

That works.

Manti Te'o 15% Appeal

Kobe Bryant 27% Appeal
Not listed: Ben Roethlisberger

Apparently rape is okay, but only if she exists.

No Mike Tyson

I'm late to the whole Manti Te'o story, but why the hate for him? Do people not believe that he was tricked?

I just don't see why anyone really cares.

They cite the Smokin' Jay Cutler blog as proof people hate him. I think it's proof people like him. You kid the ones you love.

He is now the story of the draft. I've seen mock drafts that project every single team (except the Redskins, who don't have a 1st rounder and need a young ML) will pass on him and he will fall from a top 5 sure thing to the very last team - the Ravens, who need to replace Ray Lewis and will have to decide if they can stand more drama.

Kurt made the list, but not Kyle Busch???

/yada yada not real athletes etc

You  reallybelieve his horseshiat?

Te'o is either the stupidest person on the planet or he is lying.

I'm going with lying.

This list is serious FAIL without Ray Lewis on it.

Putting aside that he's dumber than a box of bricks if he was tricked, he is the worst boyfriend on the planet. Seriously, how do you believe you're in a relationship with a girl who gets into a car crash that puts her into a coma AND gets leukemia, but it never even once occurs to you that you should go visit her in the hospital? And don't give me that garbage that he couldn't make the trip because of football or he didn't have the money to afford it without risking his eligibility. His coaches would have let him miss practice for a week, and somebody in his family would have helped him pay for the trip.

2013-02-07 05:31:37 AM
Seriously, that list says more about the stupidity of Americans than anything else.

Te'o? Woods? Cutler? Romo? Bryant*? I mean, not saying I'm fans of things they've done and/or been involved with, but really?

Lance? Get it. Dickhead Artest? DEFINITELY UNDERSTAND IT. ARod? Yep. Vick? YES times one thousand. Either Busch? I definitely understand.

The rest? Notsomuch.

*at least he, of those questionmarked players, has been accused of something that may make him worth "unliking" (to put it lightly) if it had been true
/not that cheating on a spouse, on the par of him or Tiger, is a good thing

For me, the biggest point is, "who f*cking cares?"

This is another case of American media building up a hype story in a historic program, then realizing something is wrong, and going just as far to knock it down. It's disgusting on BOTH sides of the peak of the popularity of a guy like that; overhyped, now overexposed.

I'm sorry, but any scout/expert who had him in the top 5 is a F*CKING MORON.

MaudlinMutantMollusk: What... Bonds gets no respect again?

Only active athletes were included (Armstrong gets in on some technicality for the time being).

Apparently American athletes were not invented until the 21st century. That or the respondents were morons.

2013-02-07 05:50:11 AM
Oh, active.  That makes the list more worthless.

I believe him, I also believe he's pretty dumb but when it comes to women he's really just naive which comes from strict religious upbringing so he has no idea how to relate. And he's probably really selfish as well which 99% of athletes are so that's not as big a deal.

2013-02-07 06:08:19 AM
Not sure how someone can dislike Manti. Pity him, of course. Either for being gullible and stupid or desperate and alone. Whether he lied or was lied to, it's just sad.

How Mike Vick is not at the very top of that list baffles me. He's the number one scumbucket for reasons that far outweigh a fake story about a girlfriend and taking performance enhancers.

So, 7 out of ten you are ok with?  But you still want to biatch about the list.

I'm "okay with" 5, at most. And even that's not saying "I agree with."

I hate adultery, personally, but in the world of sports it's like taking creatine.

Hmm.

Lebron?
Garnett?
Serena?
Pujols?

2013-02-07 07:11:48 AM
How could Te'o top Armstrong. The list measures appeal, in this case, lack of appeal. So creepiness is more damaging that hateability.

2013-02-07 07:17:07 AM
I don't get all the Tomy Romo hate.  Not a Cowboys fan AT ALL, I just have no idea why that guy takes so much grief.  He's a good QB (not excellent), seems generally likable in interviews and such.  He even came from a small school as a relative unknown to start at QB for an extremely popular team.  It seems like he *should* be a lot more liked than he is.  I don't get it.

No.  It is a 'likeability' poll.

I didn't like Manti Te'o at first...
But once I realized he lied to hide his homosexuality,
I kinda felt sorry for him.
I hope he has a successful career...

Any draft you see that has the Ravens drafting for 'need' over 'best non-QB or RB available' is proof that tha person has no clue how the Ravens operate and should be ignored for that team at the least.

That's not to say they WON'T draft Te'o, but they don't really do 'need' drafts. On top of that, depending in how FA goes MLB isn't likely to be their biggest need anyway. Safety, Center (if Birk retires), LT (Oher's not the answer and McKinneys gone), WR (depending on what happens with Boldin and Jones), and DT (need a run stopper).

We're likely to keep Ellerbe and then have two experienced MLBs in McLain and Ellerbe.

I DNRTFA, but if Rapistburger isn't on this list it is pretty much worthless.

/And sure, he didn't get convicted of rape in court, but the man pulled some obvious douchebaggery and only got off because everyone involved was hammered.
//I've also heard of other douchey stuff he is done from friends that happened to have a random encounter with him around Lake Tahoe, but that is obviously just conjecture.
/Still enough to seriously dislike the guy

Did Cortland Finnigan (sp) make the list at least?  He is just an ass on the field...I don't know if he is equally awful off of it.

After he was exposed/embarrassed in the title game he's lucky if he's a first rounder.

It pisses me off how ESPN, NBC, CBS, and every other news network got a complete pass for their "journalism."  They all ran puff pieces, and not a damn one did their homework.  Where the hell is ESPN's Ombudsman on this subject?

Do us all a favor and google Nina Shahravan so you can understand why no athlete will ever be convicted of rape again.

Hate the guy as much as you, but there's plenty of true things you can criticize Ben on like losing to Tebow in the playoffs.

I'm a Bears fan.  I understand that, for whatever reason, people dislike Jay.  I don't agree with a lot of what's said about him, but at least I understand why it's said.  However, I have to ask:

What the hell is Romo doing on that list?  Why do people hate him?  Are there really no other athletes that people hate more?  Plus, having Armstrong on the list opens the door to retired athletes, and you have to start getting into John Rocker and Lenny Dykstra territory there.

Funny story...got a friend who is a die-hard Steelers fan.  On superbowl sunday, he posted on his facebook that he'd be boycotting the game because he HATES the 49ers, and the Ravens team was full of "thugs & criminals."  Funny to me that he's good to cheer for Rapistburger though...

No... I just don't understand why he is so far down on the list.   He's been back in the NFL for several years, has been doing his penance.

But, no one is obligated to find him likeable.  I never said that.
