(BBC)   Stuart Freeborn passes away at 98. Who? Well, he was just a make-up artist who contributed to such small films as "2001: A Space Odyssey" and "Star Wars". oh and Yoda's look was based on features of himself and Albert Einstein   (bbc.co.uk) divider line 11

What is with all these condescending hipster headlines?

"This guy died -- he did these things you probably never heard of."

Because most people haven't ever heard of him? He was a make-up artist. Star Wars didn't make everyone who worked on it famous.

Though the Jew-nose thing would rile Farkers today.

I think it's the smug delivery that's the turn-off, like Paul Harvey if he were a dickhead (and alive).

It's a disgrace that Planet of the Apes got an Honorary Oscar for make-up in 1968, when Freeborn didn't for 2001. The Planet of the Apes make-up is laughable, while Freeborn's work in 2001 is still amazing all these years later. RIP funnyman.
