I wonder what happened to Sam after he got back home.  Let's say Rosie sees a big ass spider (maybe 3 inches) in their kitchen and she screams, "Sam!  Kill the spider!"  Would he walk in and go, "Phhht.  That's nothing."  Or would he still get the heebie-jeebies and try to stab it from 10 feet away away with a broom?

Perhaps you imagine this spider is the sort of creature that hides behind chairs and bites people on their bottoms?  Can you feel it hiding behind your chair right now?  Can you feel it's legs delicately stroking the small of your back probing for the best place to bite?

Not a repeat from most movies over-relying on poor CGI for the last 10 years or so?

IMHO the CGI in Jurassic Park stands up better than 75% of films in recent years.

/Subby would pay to see this? I wouldn't even dirty up a torrent with that tripe.

Gleeman: IMHO the CGI in Jurassic Park stands up better than 75% of films in recent years.

It was. Probably because they had something to prove. They were going with stop motion until half way through the shoot and these computer geeks said they could much of it with computer graphicss. If they wasted Spielberg's time they would have been in trouble, I think.

This strikes me as being like "Iron Skies" or "Hobo With a Shotgun" in this regard: cool, funny looking trailer, but unwatchable stretched out to feature length.

Yes. Apparently the makers of this "film" think that people went and watched "snakes on a plane" rather than simply having sat at home posting on the Internet about how great a movie it must be.

emphasis mine. Did you mean "Iron Sky"?

If so, then I'm sorry, but that does not compute. "Iron Sky" was hilarious and fun! No, not the greatest movie, but still pretty darned good. IMNSHO.

I don't know about Sam, but I'm the later, and I've never had to battle a spider larger than a black widow.

/Tarantulas don't bother me.  I think the fuzz keeps them from setting off the fear sensors in my brain.

And that's a good thing, too, because crooked-glasses director said he would find and kill anyone who downloads it. You've saved many lives.

My wife doesn't like the scene where the cat fights the spider inside the wall though.

/do like when Johansen gets covered in white sticky stuff though

I, for one, am happy we live in such times where cheesy movie monsters can be so easily made with CGI.

I know it is a silly movie, and I am willing to overlook the fact that spiders get unreasonably huge. I still have to say:

SPIDERS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY.

I'm there, opening night.
