That explains how i just watched all the episodes of "How I Met Your Mother" on netflix.

The writers need to admit that Sheldon is autistic.

There are only 3 legitimate reasons for watching a TV show you don't like:

1: You're getting paid to do it.
2: Your wife promised to give you a blowjob after the show.
3: You're in a full body cast and the remote is broken.

Some of us like TBBT subby, so fark off

2013-02-06 09:37:14 AM
They said the same thing about Howard Stern.

Huh. So that's what it's called. I'm doing that with Elementary. Hate it, but damned if my ass isn't on the couch while I watch and yell at my TV.

Yeah, i think so.  I co-marathoned episodes of Red Dwarf to separate it all.  Honestly, I, to this day, do not understand our obsession with Robin, and the woman that plays her.  She's not that attractive, IMO and isn't that funny either.

2013-02-06 09:39:32 AM
Well that explains the popularity of "reality" TV

DarkSoulNoHope: They said the same thing about Howard Stern.

That's exactly what I thought.

What was that quote from Private Parts...?

Something about the average Stern fan listening for an hour and 20 minutes per day, but the Stern haters listening for two-and-a-half hours?

I'm going to hate watch Season 3 of Homeland so I can call out anyone who claims that it's one of the best shows on TV -- Season 2 was a huge pile of crap.

2013-02-06 09:43:14 AM
Hate watching = you like watching it, but you hate yourself for it, and are worried about what people think of you for watching it.

Don't worry, we pro wrestling fans already know what this feels like.

I watched 2 seasons of The Walking Dead before I thought, "I'm not even sure I like this show."

What does it mean???

Eh, fark off Bittermitter. TBBT is a cute, harmless show that makes being a nerd a little less stigmatizing even as it caricaturizes it shamelessly.

I agree Digitalstrange.  We did not start watching that show until last year, until my wife saw an episode.  I have a degree in Physics, and my best friends from college were in all my classes.  That first episode was like a timewarp back 17 years.  We even had someone almost like Sheldon: Crazy smart, socially awkward, tall and skinny.  Only difference is that he is not asexual.

Wow, hating on TBBT, subby....how very original and 2009 of you

2013-02-06 09:55:19 AM
The Big Bang Theory is not a nerd show. It's a generic sitcom with characters that happen to be nerds. It's also the Sheldon and Howard Show more than anything.

2013-02-06 09:56:32 AM
I admit that I started watching after I heard about Sheldon spanking his girlfriend, watched the clip associated with the story, and promptly jerked it to the expression on Amy's face.

2013-02-06 09:57:26 AM
Which explains the ratings for Duck Dynasty, it is the dumbest show I have ever seen, the stuff that goes on is predictable and contrived, but if I stumble upon a marathon on a Sunday afternoon I will watch 3 or 4 episodes.

I know the internet and texting have made proper spelling irrelevant, but with any intellect-based criticism, I'd suggest a spell check before posting.

I saw that clip during the SuperBowl, and felt dirty.

I do that too. I was watching, and was thinking "This is farking terrible" the whole time, but damned if I didn't sit there and watch it. Then, the next week, what did I find myself watching? Elementary. I think CBS sends out signals to your brain.

No.  It's a stupid show, with stupid jokes, for stupid people.

TBBT isn't the worst show in the world, and it isn't the best show in the world.  It is a sitcom with nerd references.  That is it.  It provides some chuckles, but it provides just as many groans.  It's middle of the road.

It's still better then the tripe that is Two and A Half Men.  That show is just terrible.

Subby, don't be such a hater.

Well....gosh.  Girl has "attributes" that get far too air time.

Oh, and "ratings" from hate watching...seriously doubt it.  with everything you have to go through to get to be a Nielson TV rater, I doubt those people hate-watch anything.

I'm this way with Girls.  It's supposed to be one of the best comedies on television, but it's not really funny and the whole thing is just so damn unimportant that I've not piled up the last four episodes because it's the absolute last thing on my list of things I want to watch.  I think it's just one of those things that the cultural milieu says is supposed to be revelatory but that is just impenetrable to the masses.

That last pair of zippers at the bottom looks positioned for... problems.  I mean, I guess there has to be one there and all but I'm guessing she isn't riding a bike or really sitting down at any point in that.

So what I guess I'm saying is: thanks for taking one for the team, Melissa Rauch.

Girion47: No. It's a stupid show, with stupid jokes, for stupid people.

Please tell me that you stamped your feet while typing that.
