I laughed at that far more than I should have.

Ok, that was damned funny.

OK, let's see if I remember any of my HS/College Spanish.

"Temperatures will range between 80 and 90 degrees... and... it seems we're having a problem with the lights (or projector?), but don't worry about it."

That's about as far as I got before my laughter interfered with my listening.

That was pretty damn funny...can anyone translate what she said at the very end?

Sounds like she said "What's going on?" in English at the very end.

That was good, thanks Subby.

I'd say that part of it was her own fault (or that of the wardrobe dept.) for putting her in the same color as the green screen.

Why did she flip to English at the end?

Mun2 is broadcast out of Universal City, CA.  Their broadcasts are in Spanish and English, and the employees (and audience) are bilingual.

It wasn't, you can pretty much choose what colors you want the computer to turn transparent. In this case she had a pretty solid color dress so the editor just clicked on it and told the computer that this is a 2nd color to make transparent. The brilliance comes with lining up the 2. Oh and the source.

Despite all the hot air La Raza likes to put out, they're really just another group of Americans.

I really thought you were a reasonable person.  Please don't tell me that you've got some weird, f**ked up anti-Latino bias.  Please tell me that this was just a "bad joke."

Easiest answer probably just she reverted to whichever language random "Hey WTF?" thoughts come out in for her.  Quite a few newscasters in various language markets are born in primarily english-speaking countries and speak english and the language of their family's ethnicity with pretty much equal facility.  If nothing else, most english-speaking countries tend to pay higher wages, and thus turn out more college-educated people that speak whatever langauge a news station needs.

Lady that babysat me when I was 6 or so has a daughter that does TV news for a spanish language station on Florida - while she grew up speaking spanish and english - she actually had to come back home and brush up on her spanish to get the job.  She'd been using english pretty much exclusively for so long for a radio gig in Wisconsin and some jobs in Colorado that she was rusty as hell.

World's a weird place sometimes.

how does that demonstrate an anti-latino bias to recognize that latinos living in the US are just another group of Americans?

If anything it's anti-Latino to be surprised that she's bilingual.

That was pretty funny. The funnier part is all the (obviously) American people in here astounded that someone speaks two (or more) languages.

Perhaps I was not clear.   It's the comment about La Raza being full of "hot air" that struck me as anti-Latino.

The National Council of La Raza (NCLR) is a non-profit, non-partisan civil rights advocacy group that focuses on improving opportunites for health, education, youth leadership, workforce development for US residents of Mexican ancestry.

It is sometimes confused with, or conflated with, the Raza Unida Party, which was a revolutionary nationalist political party back in the 1970s.  At least some Raza Unida Party members were Aztlan separatists and Chicano nationalists.

Unfortunately, today, many people criticize NCLR for things done and said by members of Raza Unida. This is the equivalent of blaming the US Republican party for the IRA bombings because they both have the word "republican" in their name.

If anyone is racist it is La Raza. La Raza means the race. My husband is Hispanic and he knows that La Raza is about hating white people. If a white person said the same things about Hispanics that La Raza says about non Hispanics you would swear that person was in the KKK.

NCLR is not the same organization as the Raza Unida party.  I know they both have the word "raza" in their names, so it's possible to get confused, but really, they are different groups.
