I did care.  I was so relieved that he's okay.  Sadly, the only stories I could find about the situation only seemed to care about the bad guy's politics.

Meh; doesn't seem too bad. This is kind of the opposite of rice burgers: meat in the middle, and fried, sticky rice patties in place of buns. Those are everywhere here.

2013-02-05 11:45:05 AM
If they used grilled chicken it would actually be pretty healthy.

Somewhere in Japan a bunch of school kids are convinced that Kentucky is a vast chicken farm run by a guy with a white goatee.

KFC lied last time when the calc'd the calories. They claimed 500-600 and independent researchers but it around 2500 calories.

I'd eat it.

i would scrape off the rancid ketchup flavored rice vomit, then ask for 2 buns, pickles, mayo, some lettuce, then make couple of decent chicken sammiches.. But like that? no thanks. I would hurl.

KFC is actually pretty big in Asia. Probably bigger than some parts of the US.

So I sez "We got KFC in Japan? Ain't them fellas still in rice paddies or sumpin'?".
Next thing I know, the marketin' team comes up with an inside-out sandwich with a rice patty in thu middle!
They're smokin' dope - I just know it.

The original double down was never really that weird.  It's just a couple of deconstructed cordon bleus.

2013-02-05 12:12:29 PM
The pic looks icky, but the concept sounds kind of tasty.... if you're into chicken patties for a bun.

But the mess the rice would cause after the first bite.....wow.

not only that, but they reserve a bucket at xmas time in Japan. You have to reserve your chicken at least a year in advance.

KFC's new sandwich the "All In".

It won't; rice-"bun" patties are plentiful, and they hold together just fine・

Open a restaurant. Call your meatball sub the former, and anything with mayonnaise on it the latter. A whole menu of suggestively titled items.

//comp me a meal for my suggestion

Subby, if you think that sandwich is remotely weird, you know nothing about Japanese junk food. Besides, that isn't any weirder than the american double down.

It isn't stupid, it just makes your hands greasy. The Double-Down is ok, but not amazing. The Japanese version looks pretty good actually, but it would probably be better in bowl form. I absolutely love the chicken bowls at KFC. Those were the greatest inventions ever. I don't know why a restaurant chain hasn't done this yet. Incredibowl. Everything served in a nice little bowl that is easy to eat all pre-mixed.

First item when googling "japanese junk food"

Why don't more people use google when asking these questions?

I did. I've had most of the seasonal stuff. That list is pretty outdated. Got anything new to recommend?

Oh.

Well then, if I discover something awesome, I'll try to start a thread about it.

In the interim, this is pretty awesome, despite the concept.

It's okay; I don't trim my pubes too short, so it works out for everybody.

Youd think the average american would like breaded chicken stuffed with ham and cheese. Just call it something more 'murican.

See, that is one of those times when Family Guy presents some amusing but terrible stereotype, and then I actually go to a fast food restaurant in Georgia, and the stereotypes turn out to not only be true, but actually softened...
