stopped a 2005 Honda Accord headed west for failing to signal lane changes.

Out of state plates and Hispanic passengers...yeah, the trooper was just looking for a reason.  But we don't live in a police state, nope, nosireee.

Yeah, the heroin is a bad thing but how the hell does a failure to signal a lane change end up with a trunk search?

Someone called those biatches in.

It was a set up from the start. Someone wants those two out of the picture.

I noted in the wording that there were multiple lane changes. I'm willing to believe that's cop-speak for "weaving in and out of traffic, yelling out the windows at the other drivers while simultaneously screaming into their cell phones."

The seized heroin has an estimated value of $200,000.

So, what, about a gram or two?

OK if you are a mule for someone's heroine then you don't drive like an idiot.  So either they were snitched on or they are idiots.
Also if you are the importer for this heroine  the last thing you want it to do is get picked up by the cops.  It is product for sale.  If it isn't sold it won't make any money.  And while you might think that illicit drug distributors are not business savvy think again.  They have to work inside the capitalist system also.  Product lost is profit lost.  I would be pissed if my shipment got lost or intercepted.

Aside: There are classes available to law enforcement agencies to send their personnel that train them in the ways to spot drug/money mules on the highways.  The classes are remarkably effective.  County I live in the sheriff funds his helicopter from the proceeds.

I've read about some of the "signs" of drug mule and there aren't really any which truly indicate the likelihood of drugs other than separating the occupants of the vehicle and getting wildly different stories about where they're coming from or going.

I've forgotten most of the signs, but one was fast food bags inside the car because supposedly drug mules like to go through drive-thrus so they don't leave the stash unattended. Seriously, fast food bags in your car is an indication that you might be a drug mule.

So if you're a drug mule, obey traffic laws, don't act nervous if pulled over and if you have any passengers make sure you agree on a cover story. And do NOT consent to a search.

Well, apparently, the police know what they're doing because they found heroin.

Yup, that's rule number one. Here's the full list:

1. Obey the law
2. Use common sense
3. Stop immediately
4. Turn that shiat off
5. Be polite
6. Shut the fark up
7. Get a white friend
8. Don't ride with a mad woman

/keeps you from an ass kicking too
//looks like they broke rules 1, 2, 7, and 8 (and probably 4, 5, and 6 too)
