Well if you ever hope to have Republicans realize how bad Citizens United was, you can't get much better than having Obama support SuperPACs.  I think Obama should come out in favor of every bad thing Republicans currently support.  By currently, I mean they won't any longer as soon as he does.

I don't like the designated hitter, but I wouldn't suggest my team avoid using one on principle.

So vote Republican?

Obama 2010-2012: Superpacs that criticize me like AFP, funded by billionaires and mega corporations, are evil.

Citation needed.  Well, Americans For Prosperity are an evil, reverse-Robin Hood group.. but I don't recall President Obama saying that.

Let me know when any of that money starts supporting Obama's reelection campaign for 2016, then I might give a damn.

Also...AFP are an evil organization supported by corporate money and billionaire donors.  Sorry about their butthurt over the truth of the matter.

Whenever there is a news story on about some crazy person doing something, my wife says "Why would they do that?". My answer is always that you can't expect to make any sense of what crazy people do.

Every story that comes out about the Right wing now gives me the same reaction. They don't even seem worth responding to anymore.

If that doesn't work, he can come out in support of drinking water.

And for the trolly goodness, I hope he comes out and says he's a huge fan of NASCAR and loves eating apple pie.

He wouldn't even have to say anything, just show up at a NASCAR rally and cheer from the sidelines.

The revvers (you heard it here first) would demand proof that he was there, then immediately complain about the problems his security detail caused.  Then they'd ask which car he was looking at since the angles don't quite match up.

Yes super PACs are only bad when they help Democrats.

And even if he released a photo clearly showing he had been at a NASCAR race, they'd probably say it doesn't change anything because he's been angling for years to shut down the NASCAR circuit.

Excellent analogy.

Of course the whole strategy behind the "butthurt" is they want to try to embarass him to make that "stand on principle" to further their advantage they feel gained by Super PACs.

Every time I see Obama talk about Citizens United, it's basically "Yeah, it sucks, but we're going to play the game until it's gone because we have to."

What a monster, a competitive monster.

Interesting to consider the dynamics as well: if this sort of "hypocrisy" complaint worked, it would mean it would be in the Republicans interest to make the worst, most unethical ways of financing and running campaigns possible, because the more unethical they behave, the less likely the Democrats can use the same techniques without annoying their own voters, whereas Republican voters seem okay with anything their leaders do if it looks like it increases their chances of winning.

Jebus I wish Fark would get better at recognizing hypocrisy.  This is not hypocrisy.  To Obama billionairs and large corps are not evil nor were SuperPacs, to him the evil is the criticism of him.

Good.  If republicans see that this sort of thing cuts both ways than they might be a little less enthusiastic about all the money in politics.

You mean like how they were all gung-ho about the Patriot Act in 2001 and called anyone who criticized it a traitor?

And then collectively shiat their pants over it just 8 years later when a Democrat became president?
