They had us watch this is middle school which means there was no chance I'd like it at the time. i need to re-watch. Especially since John Candy was in it, he was awesome.

Only because it's taking place in Canada. If it's in the US, it's "bobsled".

How did Doug E. Doug find time in his busy schedule to be there?

FirstNationalBastard: How did Doug E. Doug find time in his busy schedule to be there?

He traded shifts at Denny's with Michelle Williams from Destiny's Child so that she could attend the Super Bowl. Win-win.

Just wait until the reunion for the That Darn Cat remake. It's going to be a big celebration.

Headline says "film's stars". They were the stars of the film so the headline is technically correct.

/not subby

You know, it's sh*tty that John Candy died at such a young age in the prime of his career. From everything I've ever read about the guy, he was genuinely nice man. He gave thousands of dollars to charity and was extremely humble about his philanthropy.

We live in an age of entitlement and self centered asshole "reality" stars who think the world owes them something. Then there's guy like John Candy, who thought it was more important to owe the world something back. What a shame.

Did they draw a line down the screen so it looked like a butt?

I really wish I had of known about this.. I loved this movie growing up.

Great pic in the article. Apparently the Calgary press uses 2003 Motorola flip phones for their photography needs.

This just reminded me that I miss John Candy too. When Steve Martin hurts his feelings yelling at him in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles I really wanted to give him a hug.

Him and John Belushi. The good die young.

/though I do recall that he and Belushi were quite close

Candy was worked to death in Mexico. Shooting should have been stopped but nope they chose to kill the actor instead.

John Hughes never got over Candy being killed by a production company.

Hope Bruce Dern get the nod for a cameo.

John Candy was in a lot of movies that were kind of crappy, but they were a hell of a lot better for having him in them. And then Uncle Buck and Planes, Trains and Automobiles, which are pure gold. Oh yeah, Stripes is pretty good too.

I thought John Candy's Jamaican accent in that movie was terrible. Like he wasn't even trying.
