"Show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser"  Vince Lombardi

2nd Place is the first loser.

Not sticking up for Jim, but he's always been incredibly competitive.  He didn't get the 49ers to the Super Bowl by being a good sport.  He got them there by being a good coach.

I would imagine most everybody playing in that game last night is fairly competitive. You can be competitive without being an asshole.

Forgetting that call, but the one that was more obvious was at the end when the offensive lineman practically tackled the defensive linemen in the end zone.

On the intentional safety?  That's true, but it had no impact on the game.  If they had called it, the penalty for holding in the offensive team's own end zone is . . . an automatic safety.

I'm always confused by the "sore loser" claims that come out after a big loss.  Wouldn't you want the coach of your team be beside himself with anger when he loses?  I mean, I'm just a schmuck fan who has to endure the bullshiat from the guys at work whose team beat mine and I farking hate it.  I really hope the coach of my team doesn't look at a loss and say "fark it, I've got a check to cash on some brews to smash - laters."

I'm a Bronco fan and the Peyton/Ray Lewis pictures kind of pissed me off.  I understand the respect that lies there blah blah blah, but shiat - I wanted a temper tantrum from Manning, not a pat on the back for the enemy.

As far as the call goes - sucks. However, Harbaugh had 59 minutes not to be relying on a fourth down TD to win.

Most people labeled as "competitive" are labeled as "assholes" also.  Goes with the label.

The best example was last night.  You had two brothers coaching.  Each had their own personality.  John is a "nice guy".  Jim is "the competitive one".  There have been enough shows about the Harbough brothers over the past two weeks that most of America has gotten a good glimpse into their personalities.  All sides agree - Jim is a little more "high strung" than John.  He was like that when he played also.

You can call him an asshole.  He would most likely agree with you. But if I were a betting person, and if I had to bet on who's going to be back next year and who won't, my money's on the asshole.

There were blatant no-calls on both sides to keep the game going.  The TD play clearly had offsetting OPI and DPI, and the NFL has a long proven history of not calling penalties in those situations, especially when they would offset.

I know...it's automatic.  It wouldn't have affected the time on the clock either.  But it would have been assigned on the kickoff which could have made a difference.

Not when Ginn decided to be stupid and just go for it all by himself.

I'll take the Pats then. Belichick 's the biggest asshole in the league.

Nope. Holding in the endzone is just a safety. Doesn't do anything to the kick-off.

Thanks...I wasn't sure about that.  So basically in a situation like that the offense could tackle everyone and hold them down until time expired.

Halfway through the season I had the Patriots vs. SF in the Super Bowl.

I was going to comment on how Belichick is considered a sore loser, but nobody could question his desire or ability to win.

This is just typical post-Super Bowl yammering. Nothing to see here, move along.

Yeah, some people hate to lose, others get used to it.

2013-02-04 02:34:11 PM
Isn't this the one time where you're allowed to act like an asshole if you lose?  It's not like a regular season or even pre-season game.

2013-02-04 02:35:52 PM
Expect that sore loser to be back in the big game next year.  San Francisco has eleven farking picks in the draft and they don't need much help.  They should trade a couple picks and get Darrell Revis to shore up their secondary.  Other than that, I don't see anywhere they are lacking.

2013-02-04 02:41:31 PM
So? He's not coaching the browns.

TFA: "Instead of using this moment to teach his players how to act like grown men, Harbaugh blamed the officials for not making a holding call on the team's last offensive series."

Holy shiat.  These guys are professionals.  Ray Lewis is almost 40 years old.  Jim Harbaugh is not out there to "teach his players to act like grown men."  THEY ARE GROWN MEN, MORAN.  Holy crap this is not pee-wee football, this is the Super Bowl.  Does this author get paid to spout this drivel?

"The officials allowed the players to play for a change"

Good, so you agree that the refs stopped enforcing the rules as they were enforced during EVERY OTHER GAME THIS SEASON.  In other words, they changed the rules of the game in the most important game of the year.  Does anybody else see how this could be considered a problem?

2013-02-04 02:49:13 PM
We should expect this type of behavior from Jim. He's a poor sport. He has an attitude problem and he's a jerk. I'll admit that I dislike Jim Harbaugh.

You don't say.

Randy Moss will be gone. So you get a good, young receiver and some help in the secondary. And maybe get Gore a 2nd set of legs.

Haha no chance in hell. They could get a high second for him, maybe.

2013-02-04 02:58:53 PM
My theory is the refs felt bad the power outage turned the momentum around completely and if the 49ers won, people would say it was because of the power outage.  So the refs had to make sure the Ravens held on.  It would be very embarrassing for the NFL and before the outage the Ravens dominated the game and after the outage the 49ers dominated the game.

/Looked like Jimmy Smith held Crabtree before and beyond 5 yards
/Was cheering for the Ravens

I think the call should have been made in the end zone but that's not why the 49ers lost. They lost because they took stupid penalties at bad times, turned the ball over and had bad game management. They blew two timeouts to prevent delay of game penalties. I think it might have been nice to have about minute on the clock after the last punt rather than time running out on the runback.

lots of no shiat sherlock.

the pass interference...that one can go either way. the fact that the guy got away with shoving an official...i guess he's lucky he doesn't play any other sport cause he would have been gone. i'd say more but i don't have a blog.
