I see the check cleared for Madden 25.

Do they mock Jimi?

Down the street you can hear her scream you're a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
And now he stands outside
And all the neighbors start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green

And so castles made of sand fall in the sea, eventually

Does this make Deion anything but lame and old?

Prey4reign: Does this make Deion anything but lame and old?

Deion has always struck me as an intelligent player and commentator (even if his commentary isn't that insightful) and someone who very much embraced the entertainment nature of pro sports. Mentions of his "business decision" regarding missed tackles highlights this attitude, and for someone who adores exposure, any exposure, he probably delighted in making this ad. I thought it was clever and well done, and "Sandcastle" became one of the fastest trending twitter terms last night following the game, so I say everyone involved deserves a pat on the back.

Athletes have to be aware of the fact that they age eventually (the smart ones, anyway) and are willing to embrace, and even poke fun at this fact, if they can do it gracefully. There's no doubt in my mind that he's receiving many more "that was fantastic" compliments today than comments like yours, and feeling bummed about not being a player any more.

I think that was an unintentional joke; the Chiefs happen to have first pick so that's who they used.

Dion, what's it gonna be? $10M, or $15M?

Why not BOTH?

I don't get the joke. If he could still play then why wouldn't he just play? Why the fake name and afro wig? Maybe I'm missing something.

Because the opening part of the commercial was about a rookie sensation, and Deion talked about his rookie season being so incredible. If he wanted to impress with another rookie season he has to go in as a rookie.

So I guess you missed the actual commercial.

I've run out of laughter on the subject of the Kansas City Chiefs. When someone tells a Chiefs joke, now matter how funny it is, I just sigh.

The part that was incredible was his play/athleticism not him being a rookie. If at 45 he could play at the same level that would also be incredible and much more of a story than just a good unknown rookie. In contrast the Joe Namath comeback commercials were funny because he thought he would still be good but would actually get killed. The Michael Jordan afro wig/glasses comeback commercial was funny because they played on the speculation about him coming out of retirement since he was still young enough to perform well at the time. Where is the joke here?

I know the Chiefs were the team because they have the pick this year, but fark it, it should've been the Jets.

I'm sorry that a commercial where Deion Sanders puts on a silly wig and mustache to re-enter the NFL as a rookie to impress his barber didn't have enough realism for you.

Don't care about realism. It just wasn't funny.

Sorta on topic, most of the commercials this year sucked. The Bud Clydesdale one was far and away the best, the Doritos goat cracked me up, and the Apatow/Rudd one was funny but went on too long. The Deion one was just 'meh', I had forgotten all about it until now.

I say EA puts Rudd and Rogen in Madden 25. Also Sandcastle, Brian Bosworth, the Beastie Boys, Betty White, and, as a standing request, put the performers of the last SB halftime show in as well. Make some easter-egg NBA Jam-style players.

It gets boring seeing the same male faces recycled into new players.

I'd be more impressed if Leon Phelps was in Madden.

That is because you're completely missing the point.  I would try to explain it to you, but I see that multiple attempts have already failed.

If you believe half the people talking about concussions now, the NFL will basically have to be Atari's "Cyberball" in 25 years.

Zero and zero.  I'm also not a douche, so I don't have that in common with Mr. Sanders, either.

/ fave part of Atlanta winning the WS was that he wasn't on the team that year.

They can just go  Back to Madden '14. It isn't like it's that hard to follow.

Also, he is the1stpick, which means they were the worst team.  Reid is starting off where he left off.

This is the industry that gave us the Xbox 360 because they didn't want the Xbox 2 to go against the Playstation 3.

With Andy Reid at the helm, that might not be far-fetched.
