Though they are still funny, they have more than a few bits of topical humour that have not aged well.

Yeah. I've been watching them lately and while the best parts are still awesome, a lot of it seems pretty average.

I enjoyed the Animaniacs, but Pinky and the Brain were always the main attractions.

Back when I was a wee lad, I said "What's up, Doc?" to the doctor when I went in for a check up, and my
Mom had a similar reaction.

I guess I never saw the episode with Brain doing the TV commercial voiceovers. The description of Maurice LaMarche doing an Orson Welles frozen pea commercial reminded me of a bit he did for an episode of The Critic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IH1PJTY9AVA

Back when Animaniacs were popular, they had a signing at the Warner Bros Store in Brea.  I went in, dropped some serious cash on a framed cell (Turkeylurky.. I believe) and Rob Paulsen signed it.  He even did a "Hellllloooooooooooooo Nurse!" for me! :)  I think I'll invest in getting the DVDs!

I caught some episodes on the HUB the other day and I am a little saddened that my son is still too young to get the humor.  I completely forgot how much fun and intelligent that show was.  The fun they had with word play amaze me.

It says in TFA that the Warner kids had no specific animal pedigree, but I seem to remember them being referred to as "puppy children" a lot.

Animaniacs was one of the big reasons I got online back in the Stone Age. My group of friends were heavily involved in the fanbase for the show, got to know a lot of the creators, and still have connections with guys like Tom Ruegger - who I understand is truly a great guy to chat with about anything animation-related. it was a great show, made by some great people, and Warner Brothers kicked them all in the balls late in its run when they decided that intelligent cartoons weren't the way to go anymore.

And I highly recommend Rob Paulsen's podcast, as TFA notes - it's really fun stuff.

This thread inspired me to watch Pinky and the Brain clips on YouTube, which led me to watching various Orson Welles clips. Frozen peas and French champagne never get old, but there's a cool interview he did with Dick Cavett too.

It's amazing how dead-on that impression is from Maurice LaMarche.

If you really love Animaniacs, then you'll love The Nostalgia Critic's hour-and-a-half long video, complete with the original cast members talking about the show.
