That dude is Richard's great *46 nephew, and he's "saddened" by his violent death? Did he have no idea how Richard III died before today?

Princes kept the view
While all the women came and went
Barefoot servants, too

I think he should assert a claim on the throne, damn Tudors are just userpers

I can't believe they found the body in a car park. That just blows my mind. The guy was King, for god's sake. It is just disgraceful to think they dumped his body in a car park.

At least take it back to the castle for a proper burial.

I can't believe the disrespect chavs today have for the monarchy.

Well, it was common practice to bury vanquished kings under car parks.
Cars were a symbol of power back then, you know.

So he was in the deep bosom of the parking lot buried?

The throne itself has largely been stripped off power - I imagine without having the Tudor wealth backing you up, being the king/queen of England and various other bits wouldn't even be worth the trouble.

I once knew a guy who played Richard III. To prepare for the role, he taped up his left hand with ducktape, taped his right arm to his torso, and put on a 2" platform shoe on his right foot. He dressed in normal clothes and then walked mid-town for most of a day. People treated him like a monster, of course.

When it came time to walk out on stage, he felt sympathy for Richard and antipathy for all of us.

He played the role pretty well I bet.

In a place with as much history as England, you have to wonder what else is just a few feet under well-trod ground that will never, ever be discovered but would blow everyone's mind if it was.

Like that dude who discovered the trove...

I think people would consider me (more) daft, what with my constant metal-detecting and pick-axing of water mains and bomb fragments.

Well, there is one thing that is just under the surface that if it ever went off, it would blow everyone's mind a few hundred yards...

He would have given his kingdom for a horsepark.

so, I don't get it.  After four thousand years, the body of the english king has been found, and this mean what?

2013-02-04 09:04:29 AM
His skellie found in a car park
A victim of a Tudor's arrow
They laid his bones out on a tarp
Where they were shat on by a sparrow
Richard the Third,
Richard the Third,
His spine was awfully curved;
Richard the Third,
Richard the Third,
The press is now unnerved.

Considering his body was last seen in Alexandria, Egypt, the Chuck-e-Cheese might be a stretch.  McDonalds, however, might be a better choice.

That's why I was fascinated and annoyed at the show "Time Team".   Throw a shovel in a field somewhere in England, turn the soil and 'oh look, Roman villa ruins'.

Throw a shovel in a field Canada and you find... dirt.

Maybe so, but he was described as a 'hunch back.' So his spine may have been crooked enough show a deformity of significant account.

"Since the discovery, researchers have been conducting scientific tests on the remains "

Oh, thank goodness they're "scientific" tests.  I knew they were making a terrible mistake a few years back when they thought they'd found the remains of Richard II and they began doing driving tests and taste tests on it.  The scientific ones are much better.
