I thought it was Tagg (or Squort or Spliff or Turducken) that was being pushed to run for Kerry's Senate seat?  Now they're throwing his wife in the mix too?  Christ Almighty, man....give it up.  We don't want you or your wacky family.  I thought we made that abundantly clear last November.

Usually, a first job is something like fast food, retail, camp counselor, or the like.  Not Senator.

You don't think buying and keeping horses that dance is an accomplishment?

Do you know how hard it is to affix a standing martingale to an Andalusian?

None of them in New York.

She picked a state with a built-in two-million-vote advantage, an obedient state Democratic party, and an incompetent state Republican party. (Rick Lazio? srsly?)

Luckily she's been replaced by somebody with her own ideas and an actual New York background, and who is way hotter.

Oh good, the less likeable of the Romney's is running. That'll sure get people to the voting booth.

Guess the focus groups liked her campaign slogan "She cares about you almost as much as she does her horse(s)" than her son's "Kneel Before Tagg."

What does that have to do with anything?  You're not supposed to vote with your boner.

She is the MS to Guliani's 9/11.  A one-trick pony, if you will.  I can just see the debate, where she breaks down and the headlines scream about the DNC challenger beating up on a disabled woman.

There is no substansive policy or anything approaching governance, she is just the disabled horse-dancing wife of an ex-politician and they are desperately trying to exploit name recognition to try and cobble together an emergency senate run.

So she thinks that she can over come the 23 point deficit her hubby had in MA. Not bloody likely. Hey Romneys MA hates you. We don't take kindly to you badmouthing us to other parts of the country. So just go run in frakin Utah already and leave us alone.

Also I hate her more that I hated Mitt. Witch has a cronic illness that would count as a pre existing condition yet she argues against Obama care. The complete epitomey of the GOP frak you I got mine attitude.

Well, she did run against Rick Lazio. Never underestimate how terrible an opponent is (see also: 2012 presidential election).

And even if the name "Clinton" was the primary factor in her election, I don't think the name "Romney" will be as helpful.

First lady. Attorney for crooked law firm. Mousey college activist. What did I miss?

That said, I like the politician she's developed into. Pragmatic, intelligent and very savvy. She's come a long way from her "right wing conspiracy, damn you again, Bill" days.

Maybe Romney's wife would show similar growth.

At least Mitt could *usually* keep his disdain for non-millionaires semi-hidden. A campaign of all Ann, all the time has ENDLESS comedy potential.

2013-02-04 12:00:32 PM
TFA doesn't really make it sound like she's even thought about it.  Brown is backing out of the senate run, and the GOP is scrambling to find someone to replace him.  It hardly comes as a surprise that the best they can come up with is "what about one of the other Romneys?"  It would be entertaining to watch the Romneys tank the GOP in back-to-back elections, but I doubt they are willing to expose themselves to public criticism again.  Now when she can peacefully prance her horses around on private land while making servants tell her how smart and beautiful she is.

No offense, but the qualifications for office are about as stringent as the requirements for approval of a half million dollar loan from Countrywide Mortgage circa 2006. Total Fark has more stringent requirements.

And what are Ann Romney's qualifications?  She has a degree in French.  I guess maybe if the sea trade between Boston and Cotes-d'Amour was strained, she could be of use.

I would just like to put it out there that I have a degree in Science.  I am over 30 years old.  I visited Boston once and would live there for a year for residency.

Surely if you wanted someone to vote on legislation, many of which are based on the results of scientific research, I would be a better fit than Ann.

This.

I don't have high expectations of the GOP in general, but the NY GOP really is a special brand of stupid.

I don't think Ann is going to enjoy that sort of advantage over the Mass. DNC
