That looks like the most miserable mall of all time.

If you can curse and fight in front of your kids, you can be tased in front of your kids.

Assault.  The word is assault.  When she came back on the property and started swinging, it became an assault.  Or is that battery?  Either way, she'd moved from words to physical attack and went from public space to private space in the process.

If I throw a rock at you it's assault.

If I throw a rock at you and it hits you, it's assault and battery.

Awesome T-Shirt: Video of the next day when he's confronted about it:

http://www.worldstarhiphop.com/videos/video.php?v=wshhAI7gkcikw83Oyf vC

Guy pulls his gun on another guy who's about to throw a brick at him. I really feel for the security guard seeing all the trash he has to deal with.

I saw the picture in the article and that guy looks as well geared as a SWAT member. Wtf kind of place do you put a mall where you have to have a guy in tactical gear guarding it? If its that bad they should shut the farker down. Also, I did chuckle when that woman got dropped. Her kids have little chance of becoming productive members of society if that is what is raising them.

BunkyBrewman: Guy really didn't need to taser the lady in front of her kids.  I'm surprised the guy at the end didn't knock his block off.  Curious that the video went black when he was confronted by another man.

What should he have done? The lady was swinging.

I'm still amazed. Maybe it makes sense in a country where shooting people is in general OK. Over here he would be locked up for a good long time just for carrying a taser.

Hmm. At 45 seconds into the video, right as she's all up in the guards face (and camera), it looks like the guard reaches out an pushes her. If so, the guard initiated the violence.

And then a few seconds later, he reaches out and grabs her tit:

Today while reading a story of a black man wanted on weapons and drug charges, I noticed the banner advertisement advertising February as "Black History Month".  Another fine contextual article for that.  It's hard to fight "racism" when so many seem to be willing and able to keep the stereotypes alive.

No it went from verbal disagreement (although vocal) to physical assault, it was all public(or at least semi public, ie a publicly accessible mall) space private property has nothing to do with it.

Watch again.  She "chest bumps" him.  Sure, it is not something that would hurt him, but she initiated the physical contact in the incident.

With that being said, what would you do in this situation, if someone was yelling at you and was in your face, standing chest to chest with you?

The security guard didn't tase her when she called him names and insulted him.  He tased the female (I refuse to call her a lady) when she started fighting with him.  He gave her adequate warning and she got tased.  That shut her the hell up didn't it?

Where do you live where everybody always listens to security guards and never attacks them, or if they are attacked they have no right to self defense.

Not really. It's just a really alien idea to me, that's all. However, since you raise it, if you people had been a bit less ready to use your guns, and to sell them to any two-bit dictator who could say "But communism", the world might be a bit more stable than it is. Not that our lovely British arms industry is a paragon of virtue, but we haven't been quite as overt about making arming dictators a central part of public policy. How did supporting the mujahideen and Saddam Hussein work out for you

The UK. security guards here have exactly the same rights as other private citizens, and that most emphatically does not include carrying or using tasers. Had he just turned his back on her and walked away, would anything have happened? There may possibly be methods of self defence which don't include shooting people.

Close to the State capitol building.

Had he just turned his back he would be a pretty shiatty security guard as she or her spawn wouldn't have left.

Security guards in the us have no special rights. That coont was on property she didn't own refused to leave at first then assaulted the person who told her to leave.

You think it would have been safe to get into a fight with a woman there?

It's his job NOT to walk away. It's what he gets paid to do; confront those breaking mall policies/code of conduct.

His mistakes were not calling the cops right away and to engage her in a verbal fight, which escalated the disturbance.  Should have just called the cops and kept his mouth shut. Everything else was fine, including tazing her. Perhaps the BF, too.

i think you may be confusing the U.S. for a country that has been metaphorically castrated, like the UK.  The mall does not want drug dealers and thieves on the property, and has a right to tell people that they are not allowed to be on the property. your position is to capitulate to the drug dealers and thieves and allow them to win and to create further societal decay. you have this position because you are a pussy. you have no concept of righteous violence and disguise your cowardice with this argument for peacefulness. so in the meantime, why dont you continue jailing the citizens in your country for making "offensive" facebook posts and mind your own business?
