Left/right perception is surprisingly malleable.  I once spent about 3 weeks driving around Australia (well, just driving around New South Wales -- Australia ia a big place), obviously driving on the left side of the road, in a car with the steering wheel on the right.  I put a couple of thousand km on the car -- it was a real road trip.  Decades later I still have vivid memories of driving there, but in the memories I'm in a US-configured car, steering wheel on the left, driving on the right side of the road.  There is no possible way (that I've found) for me to re-invert the visual memory so it accurately reflects what I saw and did.

Nah, she would've starved to death by now because all the proteins she was eating would've had the wrong stereochemistry.

I also reside in a 'Parallel Universe' away from the rest of the world.  It's called TEXAS!!!

When I was about the same age I had an experience when my mother went to drop me off at school and I walked into the cloakroom and everything had changed. I burst into tears and ran back and pretended to be sick to get the day off school. I am unclear on the details now, but I remember telling my friends when I was younger and in fact this made me afraid to go to the bathroom or really anywhere by myself because I couldn't get over the idea that things might somehow switch around by themselves. As far as I remember things were pretty solid and it's not likely that the place had simply been remodelled - I think this was mid-term not the beginning of a new term anyway. I tend to rationalise it now by thinking that some minor things may have been changed but that I was too small to understand or cope with it.

I had another experience as an adult where a friend had tests done by the doctor and he had a serious liver problem. We had several conversations, and I became very upset. Suddenly it was no longer true and he claimed that the conversations had all happened a different way. I'm still somewhat wary that he may have actually been playing a trick on me, and when other people found out he had to talk his way out of it. My other theory is that I jumped into a parallel universe.

It would be interesting to see if there are records of this sort of delusion that predate the idea of multiple universes, and if so, what the supposed explanation was.  I recall reading somewhere that the experiences of  people who claim to be abducted by aliens are not new, that the exact same symptoms have been recorded for hundreds of years, only prior to about 1950 or so, they were from people who claimed to be possessed by demons or some such.  The only change is that religious "explanations" have changed to science (fiction) ones.

Well, maybe.  But did you ever stop to think, if you could wake up in a different city, in a different time zone... could you wake up as a different person?

This assumes that the multiverse theorem is true, as well. The multiverse theorem seems to hinge on humans making decisions, which is a wonderful conceit - that somehow everything else in life is quantifiable and predictable but human free will is not. i think that it's quite possible that free will is an illusion, that we are victims of our own biology.

The popular Hollywood concept of a "multiverse" theorem is based upon human decision. Scientific hypotheses of a "multiverse" are not so egotistically constructed.
