ThisIsNotSubtle: Puppy Bowl's done, time to break out the beer and salsa. We're using packing crates for tables and the food is all from the deli section this year, since we have no way to cook anything, but hey, still fun.

I predict Alex Smith will get 2-5 snaps, 49ers will win 21-14, and Ray Lewis will still be a sanctimonious douchebag.

LarryDan43: The_Y2P_Problem: I'm saddened by the lack of a greenlit Puppy Bowl thread.  I'm sure there was one on Total Fark, but I'm not funny enough to get people to pay for my TF EVERY month.

That said, Butterscotch got screwed out of Most Valuable Puppy.  Defensive players never get the credit they deserve.

I could have done without the animal planet "celebs".

No shiat.  I have no idea what a Turtle Man is, but it's now my greatest fear that in 500 years after our society has crumbled and archaeologists find a way to get data off a DVD, they'll believe that that was representative of our people.

I just saw the ad for "The Job" and I'm confused.  Is the prize some awesome job with a huge salary, or are they just trying to get their foot in the door for some entry level deal?

So if the game is tied after regulation the new NFL playoff rules call for a shin kicking contest between the two head coaches, right?

We're in the middle of moving/gutting the kitchen. It's not pretty. But we still have the all important cable. Woohoo!

WOOT!  OH my, so here we are.  I get to watch my team hopefully defeat the Ravens.  I've been telling all my co-workers and friends and family that the Niners win by 14.  I just can't see it any other way.  I may be crazy, delusional or smarter than even I think I am.  We'll see.

What makes me happiest is seeing Kaep have the success he's having.  Go Nevada!  Go Kaepernick!  Go Niners!

I hope I'm not looking for a recipe for crow tomorrow.

I have my Pat Willis #52 jersey on, got a nice glass of Merlot, my wife's fantastic crab dip, some wings and my homemade chili.

Whose got it better than us!?!?!???!

Harbaughs don't kick shins.  They break each other's fingers until one of them can't handle the pain.  And if they run out of fingers, they use their children's fingers.

SUPERB OWL Time

Going with a 35-10 49ers win, no clue why. Wife and I are betting on most of the prop bets for fun. I have Gore at 140 yards, 2 TDs while she says Flacco is ELITE!

I've got SF winning this 27-21. The game is all-but-won in the third, and the 49ers' defense makes it an unbelievable fourth with stellar play.

Also, I saw this the other day, and I thought it was fantastic:

And if it still hasn't been decided, they have Ray Lewis kick each of them in the jimmy until one of them cries "NEVERMORE!".

CSB, I'm actually friends with Lisa. So i know how this is supposed to work. Here's how it goes:

*Each episode has five candidates going for a position at one featured company. Cosmopolitan is the company in one episode, Zynga's another, MLS is in there too, etc.
*That company will run them through several stages of job interview: questioning, quizzes, tasks, whatever the hell they want to do. At the end of the episode, they'll make the job offer to one of them.
*They might not get their first choice, though. Standing behind them are three competitors, also looking at the five candidates. At any moment, one of them can step in and make an offer to a candidate. That candidate then has to decide whether to take the offer, or stay and go for the featured job.

Lisa said on her Facebook wall that, in the eight episodes, 16 people wound up getting jobs.

I just got back from the deli/minimart near my place and they said there's a 45 minute wait for fried chicken at the moment.  One lady was lamenting that she was renovating her kitchen for the Super Bowl, but then her 200 piece order of chicken came up.  She seemed to stop caring.

Anything, ANYTHING, is better than seeing Murderin' Ray's cheesin' mug all over the place for the foreseeable future. The only place I want to see his mug is behind bars, or in the mugshot roundup where it belongs. Fark Ray-Ray, fark Art Modell, and fark Baltimore.

By the way, I want the Niners to win.

I would buy you a beer if that were possible.

Ray Lewis will be dead from a self inflicted gunshot wound to the chest within 5 years.

2013-02-03 05:20:55 PM
PREDICTION:

I could be wrong, but I believe the 49ers have five first round picks on the o-line, two first round picks at wide receiver, a first round pick at tight end, a running back that WOULD have been a first round pick if he didn't get hurt in college, and a quarterback that WOULD have been a first round pick if he hadn't gone to a small school and played in an offense that was "foreign" to the NFL (but has now been adopted by half the teams in the league to great success).

Statistically, they may not be the best offense in the NFL, but they are the most "talented.". It adds up to too much for the aging Ravens defense.

SF - 35
BAL - 24

This is quite an interview. One guy you can't understand, and the other guy you don't want to understand.

"How would Ray Lewis like to be remembered?", Shannon says. He'd like to be remembered a lot differently than he is, which is a goon that got away with murder.

davidphogan: That sounds kind of cool. Maybe I'll give it a chance. Thanks!

Oh. Yes. As for the positions themselves, what they were going for in picking them is positions with a lot of potential for growth and advancement. Not entry level, but not exactly 'head chef at 5-star' either. You get a decent job and then it's on you to make more of it once you have it.
