This sort of thing happens a LOT. Guys in bands work in music stores, if you rip off their practice space and then go try to sell the gear at the nearest store, someones probably gonna recognize it.

Someone stole about 10k of my audio gear from my church last year. To be completely honest, I didn't have much in the way of forgiveness until the insurance check cleared.
