Can we say strawman?  The new guidelines will still have standards and women will have to meet them.  So even if all sexism is eliminated, there will still be more male infantry since men are more likely to meet those standards.

Of course strawmen are Beck's favorite targets.  I even understand that he raped and murdered one.

randomjsa: Oh I can do better than that.

We'll take 10,000 men and 10,000 weapon. Both sides get all the same equipment, supplies, and training.

Let's start a war... at the ga... kidding.

The women are going to lose horribly. Yes they are. Yes. They. Are. That's not sexist. That's not underestimating women. That's just how things are. If the contest involves fighting, the men are going to win in a contest against women. This is his point. War is about killing people and breaking things, and whoever does it the best wins... Period. This is the same reason men are far more likely to commit violent crimes than women too.

When lives are at risk, and they always are during war, diversity and equality get to take a back seat to reality. If you want women in combat roles, that's perfectly fine, I'm not against that but you will have to accept everything that goes along with that whether you like it or not,

There was a war famous for that sort of tactic.  WW1, in fact.  And it's called the Great War sometimes, so that must mean it's a good tactic.

See this woman? This is Deborah Sampson. She disguised herself as a man and fought in the Revolutionary War. She fought on the front lines, and took two musket balls to the thigh, which she REMOVED HERSELF so her gender would not be discovered. She was honorably discharged and after petitioning the Massachusetts state legislature, she got a full military pension.

What have you done lately, Glenn?

Glenford:

Canadian Ranger Patrol Group

They are some pretty badd-ass soldiers. Not exclusively aboriginal, but most of them are.

So, being a Canadian, I got curious and looked them up on Wikipedia. Here is the picture that came up:

The enemy is going to cower, not because we have a cross-dressing tranny Eskimo, but because our cross-dressing tranny Eskimos are some of the best-trained and well-armed cross-dressing trannies on the planet.

/I know a female Marine.
//She's bad-ass.
///Her Army husband agrees.

I like the camo pants and the bright red sweatjackets and hats.  It's the reverse-psychology version of camouflage, I suppose.

russlar: I don;t know. If I wa son the front lines, and saw tila tequila charging me, i'd run the fark away!

I think sending Tila at the enemy would qualify as biological warfare.

Perhaps they anticipate fighting color-blind enemies.

ha-ha-guy: I only support female troops if they don't increase the logistics tail of the effort.  When suddenly you need dig an extra set of latrines at the forward fire base and erect another bunkhouse for the women, fark that.  If we're talking Starship Troopers movie style where everyone uses the same resources, meh.

The other concern is that the first two females who tried to complete the USMC training for infantry officer both dropped out due to physical limitations.  The command structure really want some female officers though so they can appear progressive and there are concerns they'll just nerf the standards for the next batch.

Other countries have had success with female combat troops, the question is if America will implement it in an efficient way or just do quotas.  Personally I'd say to start off, any female who wants to do front line work should end up in a role similar to the one the females in the 707 White Tigers play.  The women are sent in because terrorists and the like much less likely to see the woman as a threat.  I'm less sold on the idea of just making every infantry company 1% to 10% female and upping their logistics tail as a result.

You already have female Marines - damn good ones too. And to cite the first two dropping out is disingenuous  Any new trial is going to have a couple of drop outs and for the record, do you know how many men drop out? Also, you already have women in combat roles: this just means they get 'official' credit for the jobs they do. So rather than being 'attached' to a combat unit, they actually get 'assigned' to it.

As for latrines, you dig them based on numbers - you'd still need the same number regardless - and it's not the big deal you want to make of it.

I say this as one of the first four women in Canada to hit BOTC as a member of the Combat Arms in Canada way back in 1988 - you'll get over it. I promise.

shiat, there goes "Operation Cross-dressing Hispanic Eskimo." What were Democrats thinking??
I suppose we'll have to use actual trained soldiers from now on.
