Well I think for the 11th season they need to put Ziva in a bikini again.

I think it was this episode that had this beautiful ass shot of her.  Made me want to sit up and beg for buttermilk.  It was perfect, simply perfect.

aujoshh: Not only has  NCIS been on for 11 years, but remember, it's a spinoff of  JAG, a show that debuted in  1995.

Even crazier is the fact that someone born in 1995 (January at least) is old enough to join the actual navy.

Yeah I got carded for smokes the other day abd realized 1995 is when 18 year olds were born.

Wife watches NCIS damn near 24/7 if possible.  I don't get the appeal, they cycle the same format over and over.  This show, Criminal Minds and the like have the same stereotypical characters.  I don't actually watch many of the shows but I hear them all.  When you remove what is apparently regarded as eye candy and only hear the shows it's apparent that they are stuck on repeat.  I am amused by how the geeks on TV "hack" into anything in about 20 seconds accompanied by around 1000 pounding keystrokes in the background.  I also like how they "hack" into other government agencies databases with no blowback whatsoever.  Like I said, when all you get is the audio you get a little different viewpoint.

Min 1-7: introduce the body.
Min 8-22 : meet the characters and the killer is one of them.
Min 23-48 : follow the clues to the person that is Not the killer.
Min 49-55 : chase the real killer, hope they arrive in time to save the character at risk.
Min 56-58 : arrive in time.
Min 59-60 closing scene/monologue/music montage

Adjust for favorite series.

NCIS probably has 2 redirects to throw you off and make it seem smart.

I was watching an episode this past week which focused on Abby having some kind of flash back to some kind of childhood trauma and I thought this show must have jumped the shark with me because Abby is getting on my last nerve and I don't give a shait about what's bothering her.

So now a few posts on a Forum viewed by thousands is more entertaining than a television show enjoyed by millions?

NCIS is solid, but I'll take Criminal Minds and Law and Order: SVU for long-running procedural shows, thanks.

Show has definetly run its course.
More an more its now the Abby or Ziva show.
Last Tuesdays show they barely had time to work in the whole murder then solving part. It was all Abby.
At the end, if you sneezed you missed how they solved the case because it was all about Abby.

And why is that godawful NCIS Los Angles still on the air? And why isn't it set in San Diego, where there is actually a real Naval base?

I would be so down with that. It would have to be on a premium cable channel though.

FirstNationalBastard: Toshiro Mifune's Letter Opener: kronicfeld: From the "You're not a football player, so you can't criticize Jamarcus Russell" school of argument.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight, because movie critics have to be filmmakers in order to level criticism against movies, TV critics have to be showrunners in order to assess TV shows, and book critics have to be established authors in order to pass judgment on literature.

You see, I'm not making the whole "you have to be X to criticize Y" argument.

What I'm saying is that I've never found these largely negative headlines to be particularly insightful, amusing, entertaining, clever, or worth our time.  I never said or implied that subby had to be involved in the field of television to offer valid criticism about a TV show.  You're reading far too much into what I said.

In short, good job on buttfumbling the point, Mr. Sanchez.

Well, Subby wasn't necessarily being negative. I mean, does it seem like NCIS has been on for 10 years? The cast hasn't exactly aged or changed that much, the show is still the same fun, goofy show it's always been...  the first two years with Kate excluded, the only way you can tell a S3 episode from a S10 episode is by seeing whether it's Lauren Holly or Rocky Carroll as the Director.

/still say that NCIS is a well done DC Elseworlds where The Goddamn Batman became a Marine sniper, then a Navy cop.

Mmmmm, Lauren Holly!

I didn't realize the naval background of Los Angeles and Long Beach was such a well-kept secret.  You never even suspected there was a reason why there's an entire class of submarine designated as "Los Angeles"?

I am aware LB and LAs history. But it doesn't compare to SD in past and present naval presense. Beside Pendelton is nearer to SD. Seems to me SD would have been a better setting. But then again we are talking about a really, really crappy show. So its not worth getting into.

I happen to enjoy both NCIS shows, so number 1... BECAUSE FARK YOU THAT'S WHY!

Number 2...  The show is filmed in LA, so easier

Number 3...  A setting in LA would seem to lend itself to more stories.  So that makes sense to me.

And really why the hate?  It's a tongue in cheek cop show, really both of them are.

/Besides by ranting such as you have, you're just asking to get obliterated by the goddamn BATMAN Gibbs

There are maybe 5 TV shows I watch regularly and NCIS is one of them (mostly because of Abby). I knew The Simpsons would last long enough for me to be Grampa Simpson.

Or how about modern American Goth bands for her? Faith and the Muse, Bellweather Syndicate, She Wants Revenge, just once in a while maybe?

violentsalvation: I'm tired of all the family member / childhood episodes this season. DiNozzo's dad at Christmas, Ziva's dad episodes, Leon's you know what. Abby's stupid childhood story.

SO MUCH THIS!

I still love NCIS, but they need to go back to being an ensemble where it is about the team solving cases and not just the angst of the week.  Ziva needs to go away!  She should be in jail.  She is the reason her father and Jackie Vance were killed.  If she had arrested her dad after he admitted commiting murder on U.S. soil instead of taking him to the Vance's house for dinner, no one would have died.  She used to be cool, but they have turned her into a whiny biatch the last couple of seasons.  As for Tony and Ziva?  NO!
