And it's still more entertaining than anything you've ever crapped out, subby.

Toshiro Mifune's Letter Opener: And it's still more entertaining than anything you've ever crapped out, subby.

Well, to be fair, I think it really depends on who subby is.

I'm tired of all the family member / childhood episodes this season. DiNozzo's dad at Christmas, Ziva's dad episodes, Leon's you know what. Abby's stupid childhood story.

From the "You're not a football player, so you can't criticize Jamarcus Russell" school of argument.

It's alright, Leon's garbage collector brother, his brother's wife, Elinore, and his curmudgeonly father Andrew will be moving into Leon's little Baltimore apartment for the remainder of the season, while Leon will rediscover his passion for music and quit NCIS to play trumpet in small clubs.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight, because movie critics have to be filmmakers in order to level criticism against movies, TV critics have to be showrunners in order to assess TV shows, and book critics have to be established authors in order to pass judgment on literature.

You see, I'm not making the whole "you have to be X to criticize Y" argument.

What I'm saying is that I've never found these largely negative headlines to be particularly insightful, amusing, entertaining, clever, or worth our time.  I never said or implied that subby had to be involved in the field of television to offer valid criticism about a TV show.  You're reading far too much into what I said.

In short, good job on buttfumbling the point, Mr. Sanchez.

Well, Subby wasn't necessarily being negative. I mean, does it seem like NCIS has been on for 10 years? The cast hasn't exactly aged or changed that much, the show is still the same fun, goofy show it's always been...  the first two years with Kate excluded, the only way you can tell a S3 episode from a S10 episode is by seeing whether it's Lauren Holly or Rocky Carroll as the Director.

/still say that NCIS is a well done DC Elseworlds where The Goddamn Batman became a Marine sniper, then a Navy cop.

What is this NCIS? Admittedly, I'm a little slow. Lost and the Sopranos is where I'm at.

DiNozzo and Ziva should just get together already.

I guess I haven't missed much from this season then since I haven't been watching.

I freely admit this show to be a guilty pleasure.  It's not "great" television, but the cast has good energy, the eye candy is appealing and while I suspect Gibbs and I would not get along, I enjoy watching his surly, coffee swilling, bourbon slamming, boat building antics.

A couple of those were really good. It just feels that they are relying too much on the families this season.

Why do you need it on DVD? Just change your channel to USA and I am sure it will be on.

And if we were talking about NCIS, I'm sure you would be correct.

I was assuming that was snark since they explain it so often in the show.

I just love the fact that no matter what kind of situation they get, it's ALWAYS NCIS doing the work for themselves. Call local police for backup? HECK NO!

Let the government know that you found evidence that a loose nuke is going to be sold to arms dealers? NO WAY, we'll handle this in-house!

Part of me thinks they live in an alternate universe where they are the only police force and all crimes somehow involve people tangentially related to the Navy.

At least they have the flimsy excuse that they're working under the Navy's jurisdiction. Unlike on the various CSI incarnations where people who are supposedly forensic scientists conduct interrogations, serve arrest warrants and get in shootouts.
