It might be a crescent moon (the crescent moon used to be tied to certain virgin goddesses like Artemis)

This goddess would have been more fun:

Huitaca the Goddess of the moon, pleasure, partying, and drunkenness. I'd say that's also more appropriate for Carnival, too

"Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God"

The Goddess is still alive and walks amongst the Catholic Church.  Always wondered how they reconciled that bit.  Doesn't matter, I guess.  Even as the mother of Christ, at least She gets some formal respect from the non Pagan community on a regular basis.

The connection is closer than you think.  I wrote a paper on a great painting of the Virgin Mary standing on a crescent moon that's in the collection of the Met while I was in college.  Turns out the device is lifted directly from Artemis, and that there were complains about the pagan origin of the symbol in the 16th century.

The reason for the connection is pretty obvious, if you think about the moon and women.

We should bring the old gods back. Christians and Muslims are getting too zealous lately.

They even dedicated it day before a neo-Pagan holiday too!  How thoughtful.

Not sure what we just spelled in semaphore, maybe side by side it would be the Jesus Help Album?
I will wait for the YMCA reference as well.

It's the garden spot of the whole country. People travel hundreds of miles just to get to this spot where we're discussing now. This might be the Atlantic City, New Jersey of all Bolivia for all we know.
