Other News: Conan has fans

It tried to make me sit through three minutes of the same two 15 second spots repeating over and over and over and fark you not worth it.

I'd watch an entire Conan show as muppets.

Or Sam the Eagle.

I wasn't paying attention enough to know this was going on. I would have loved to have sent something in. Pretty cool.

star wars recreated in 15 second chunks and stringed together to form a full movie, entertaining...
Recreating a talk show in the same format, odd and the opposite of entertaining.  Who are these fans that have this sort of time?

At work..... so this is very much a bookmark.

I haven't watched Conan since he switched to TBS.  What's the consensus on quality?

Also, was youtube-ing(sp?) Conan's old show segments where he had that young animal expert on - where everything always immediately broke into chaos.  Good times, good times.

I like it. They don't have many of the sketches they used to have (NBC owns the IP and won't sell), and they definitely don't have the budget they had at NBC, but they make up for this with their typical self-deprecating style and make fun of the lack. Lately I've been finding the monologue isn't quite up to snuff, but the stuff they come up with on the fly (either Conan/Andy, or with the guests, whatever) is as funny as ever IMO.

Somehow, every once in a while, they do manage to be able to use the Masturbating Bear and Triumph. And the fact that they're used so sparingly usually means that they're bust-a-gut funny when they DO appear.

This would be better if it was a crowd sourced version of Leno's Tonight Show.....nice try Conan.

I don't know that a whole show of a bunch of 60 year olds in bed falling asleep by 11:45 is all that interesting

2013-02-01 04:43:24 PM
The opening of the stuntman segment w/ the talking butts was the best part.

2013-02-01 04:51:45 PM
So I watched that for, you know, five minutes, and I started to wonder, "When will this get funny?" and I remembered, "It's Conan, it's never funny."
And I closed out that window and I walked away.

I tried to like it, but i could not last 5 minutes.

Yeah, if they crowd-sourced Leno, there's a chance that something Leno did might  potentiallyturn out funny.

I actually made the whole thing, it was certainly bizarre.

I agree with some of the Boobiess... I think he should just try an entire show done as muppet versions of everybody.

Conan's show is pretty good. But I still think Craig Ferguson has the best late night show. Last night Rashida Jones was on Ferguson for the 14th time and they are pretty fun to watch.

/then again, I'm high right now

Didn't work in the US either.

I don't mean the video...it worked fine. The concept didn't work.

idk -- Ferguson goes blue fast and frequent. Its funny for awhile but after a bit all the penis and gay jokes get old and shticky.

I like his show allot and i think hes one of the best interviewers on late night -- but makeing jokes about crotches and homos is like shooting fish in a barrel. Once in awhile it really seems like he cant reach for anything other than low hanging fruit.

I didn't really like it either. I like Conan but this just... fell flat to me. Sorry Conan.

What a terrible user experience on that site.  Not to be "that guy," but I really was enjoying the show, but had to pull the ripcord because a) I noticed there were double the ad breaks than if you'd been watching it on TV, b) for 117 seconds, they played the same H&R Bloack, ad, and then they played 2 new ones, and then that same H&R Block 3 more times.  In one "ad break."  That was truly terrible.  I'm kind surprised that someone "hip" like Conan, who I would think has a pretty good grasp on the internet and how it works, would allow his site to be that crappy...

And with that, the final nail in the coffin of Conan's career is driven home.

Seriously, that is beyond shark jump, that is past Laverne and Shirley, and even surpassed Mork and Mindy.  Conan has now entered Joanie Loves Chachi territory.  I feel bad for the guy, I really do, but it is time for him to sell insurance or something.

Fixed. It doesn't make sense, but at least now it's a word. And who doesn't like shallots?
