Look, if I wanted a cheap knock off of a Lambo, why would I pay more?

If I had that much money, I would never drive anywhere ... ever.

Comic Book Guy: liam76: Colour_out_of_Space: They're all going to be sold in Dubai.

At least one will be in Brunei

To a guy names Sultan.  Another in Bahrain, probably.

Titled sultan.

Although sultan would be a pretty kick ass name if you wanted your kid to be tough, at least if he wasn't going to be a sultan.

Because it's underpowered and unnecessary?

Nothing "super" about 6 cylinders. That's Chevy Cavalier territory.

Loki009: After watching this weeks Top Gear I would much rather have the Pagani Huayra.

Most shows where they take what ever overpriced super car out on the track I am kind of "Meh, another car for some rich dude with ED". However I dont know what exactly is about this car, it was the first car in a while i honestly would love to have.

wait wut?

the new season doesn't air until 2/4/13 i was told

am i already behind?  considering their "season's" are all of 5 shows... well don't want to miss it

I'm not usually one for fancy cars, but that does look kind of bad ass, really.

Anyone got a few million to loan me?  I'll probably need a million or so extra to insure it and all...

Obviously, for a vehicle that fancy, we'd have to have a man with an innate sense of fashion and the ability to handle fast cars to take on the track.

Beerguy: Would you even be able to secure insurance for something like that?

Even if the insurance premiums were like 50k a month, the insurer is taking a huge gamble that anyone who is stupid eccentric enough to pay that much is going to show good judgement while driving it.

I know that anyone who could afford to buy one could probably declare it "self insured", however, the law doesn't allow for you to drive around without insurance.

So don't insure it for loss/damage (comprehensive/collision) but put liability on it.  Costs are still way cheaper.  The state doesn't require you to carry enough insurance to fix your own car, only enough to pay the medical bills of anyone you run into.

Rplacement parts for that thing would cost $Texas

Those 7 cars are just going to sit in fancy garages. I wouldn't be shocked if at least one of them is purchased by someone that doesn't even know how to drive.

Neat looking, though.

All the guys who really have the money, are too old to have a good time with it, too old to take the women out, too old to buy a fast car drive it

Season 19 Episode 1 aired on the 27th. This is the UK series not the US series if that is what you are talking about.

Are you suggesting that the law applies to rich people?

lawl

In some states you can put up a bond with the state in lieu of insurance.  IIRC it was only $25,000 in one state where I used to live.  If you can afford the car, you can afford to put up a $25K bond with the state.

No insurance necessary, however if you're that rich and hurt someone have fun with the lawsuits.

Just guessing when you have that much money you have some kind of umbrella insurance for personal liability or a team of hit men ready to take care of any lawsuits

I suppose this is the thread where I talk about actually having seen one of these super expensive sportscars in person? Some online browsing makes me pretty sure it was a McLaren F1. Painted bright red. I saw it in its natural habitat, pulled over by a cop for speeding.

I-66, somewhere in Arlington.

You do realize that the number of cylinders has little to no impact on performance, right?

Displacement, peak RPM, compression ratio, boost pressure, ignition timing, valve and manifold design....these are the things that matter. The number of cylinders is basically about cost, harmonics, and weight distribution.

750hp and 0-60 in 2.8 seconds, and you say it's underpowered because of the cylinder count?

/the sheiks who buy these things still have an advanced case of micropenis

That's the case in Indiana.  Or at least it was when I read about it back when I was taking Driver's Ed.  I've no clue if they still allow that or if the amount has changed though.

a perfect example of how those in the Middle East have more money than brains and originality. Diamonds in the headlights? really? The reason theres only seven being made is more than likely their market is so small. Like theres widespread wealth in the Arab world.  Its being touted as an Arabian car so Arabs will buy it. Who wants to buy a $4m dollar car from someone who's only built 7 cars?
I bet anyone who is not an Arab and can afford to buy a $4m car will not be buying this.

I love the look but the price tag? Not even realistic.

3.4 million dollars that can be destroyed in less then 10 seconds? No thanks. You can buy a jet for less then that!
