chopit: dalovindj: Makes I, Robot look like a masterful cinematic handling of a scifi concept.Ah, fark you. When you're done masturbating over Asimov's corpse, maybe you can have some fun for once.
scratched: I can't believe they raised over $37k for that. What a piece of crap.
dalovindj: Well shot and fun visually, but F- on story. Truly retarded. So future humanity has a flotilla of giant warships that can travel to other stars if only they would use their weapons as engines, but humanity never builds colony ships? We just park them weapons platforms around Jupiter? Humanity never thinks to use this technology to explore? Moronic premise. I'm open to hearing how fanwanking could make anything sensible out of this idea, but I'm not seeing it.If we ever travel to other stars, if we ever colonize other solar systems, it will be by design and accomplished through planning, engineering and preparation. It won't be a damned mutinous hijacking. When you evoke Carl Sagan, you evoke hard, rational scifi. This was not that. All style, no meat. Makes I, Robot look like a masterful cinematic handling of a scifi concept.
kilroy14: Really love this kind of stuff, but this is hyper poor. Mixing in Carl Sagan made the story disjointed and less interesting. Since I still use Hustler's ranking system for movies, I find this one 1/4 erect.
Cthulhu_is_my_homeboy: In the spirit of all classic sci-fi, it's not about the future, it's about the present. I agree, it's not the tightest writing I've seen even in an indie project, but you totally missed that the entire point of the story is that given the choice between guns and butter, the human race picks guns nine times out of ten. It's pointing out that if we put the same effort into science that we put into killing one another, we could accomplish great things. The story isn't about spaceships full of nukes orbiting Jupiter, it's about overbudget contemporary weapons programs and an under-funded space sciences program.Or are you too left-brained to comprehend allegory?
