I know when I think "Basketball Expert", I think of Ricky Rubio.

Yep.

I don't see where Rubio said what subby put in quotes, soooo.... why is it in quotes?

Perhaps if Gasol were healthy, he'd be playing better.

Trade Gasol for Rubio.

Frozboz: Trade Gasol for Rubio.

You know funny enough, Gasol and Nash for Rubio, Derrick Williams, Kirilenko, Roy and Stiemsma does actually pass the Trade Machine. Which of course makes no damn sense whatsoever, but hey.

$19 mil worth of Gasol though....whoo boy. That is a fat number to try and move.

Rubio's a waste.  I'd trade him for a box of cracker jacks and a cheerleader.

Yeah that won't be easy since Gasol's got another year left. My favorite fake trade that I've heard so far is the one Jalen Rose (any maybe some other people) proposed where Dwight Howard goes to the Hawks for Al Horford, Kyle Korver, and cap filler. Only thing is whether Dwight would sign an extension with the Hawks.

He might be putting up better stats if you all didn't have 3 other PG's getting 23+ minutes a game.

The Lakers are so screwed, and it's just so great.

- If they do end up making the playoffs this year, they're going to get destroyed by the Spurs or Thunder.
- They can't trade Howard to anyone but the Nets, because that's the only team he'd sign an extension with, and the best deal the Nets could give them anyway is Brook Lopez and a bunch of salary cap ballast
- They can't trade Gasol for more than 10 cents on the dollar because D'Antoni has destroyed any trade value he once had
- Kobe, Nash, and Metta are going to be chewing up like 75% of their cap alone next year
- They still don't have a bench
- The free agent pool this offseason is terrible, unless you're ready to go all in on either Chris Paul or Josh Smith

You know you're in trouble when your best option might be to just let Dwight Howard leave outright via FA.

On the one hand Rubio's one of my favorite players, he's shown flashes in his career, and I can never get the fact that he held his own against Chris Paul and Jason Kidd at the age of 17 out of my head. On the other hand, he really isn't playing well right now.

/just going by the numbers, not too many T-Wolves games on TV around here

Why are expecting everyone with an ACL injury to perform like Adrian Peterson did?

Exactly.  If he hadn't blown out his knee, he probably could've fixed his shot during the summer, and now that's just pushed back a year.  Combine that with injuries to Love, Pek, Budinger, Roy, Howard, not to mention Rubio himself, and this season's just been a lost cause.

Somehow I had totally forgot about the ACL. Carry on you Spaniard.

Rubio's the real deal. Anyone who says otherwise is welcome to trade him to the Celtics for some D-League players and a second-round pick.

/Please?

Minnesotans in this thread: lol, really?Rubio is coming back from the knee injury you are ALL well aware of. Love has played hurt and Barrea all by himself has lost us 3 or 4 games by doing stupid shiat on an important possession. We are not losing by alot. We simply don't have Rubio healthy or Love at all. Also, Adelman hasn't been there half the year and for better or worse he DOES make a big difference for this team.

What a coincidence that he would say this yesterday and amazingly, the Lakers PLAY the Timberwolves tonight on ESPN!

I've never liked Love, he pads his stats in junk time and thinks he should be league MVP.  Rubio is/was overrated.  I'm willing to give Adelman more of a chance, I think he's a good coach.

THIS.  Seriously, they've been missing 6 of who they expected to be their top 8 players for large stretches this year, and no team can survive that.  They made some good deals bringing in Kirilenko, Shved, Budinger, and Cunningham, who can all be parts of a successful team.  This team was an #8 seed until Rubio went down last year, and they're built to be a much better team going forward.

Try moving Hibbert at $15 million. He's having a banner year.
