No subby, he's just shrinking the size of the government.

Well if you're never going to meet with them why have them? Just more government employees sitting around drawing a paycheck for nothing.

Good Job Mr. President. Now keep cutting.

There is literally nothing, at this point, that Obama could do that conservatives wouldn't rage about, so I fail to see your point, subby.

Yeah, makes sense.  I heard that movie sucks anyhow.

Is that because the US economy 2.2 million jobs over all of last year, and therefore the council not needed anymore?

/Look at him eating those crackers...

I guess after finding out the economy created 600K jobs the past three months, he figured he didn't really need them anymore.

Did the US economy accidentally 2.2 million jobs or on purpose 2.2 million jobs?

The whole thing?

Over his first term, not the last year.  With that kind of record, who needs a job czar amirite?

Though really you think RethugliKKKans would be happy to have less government bureaucracy, particularly since they're always going on about how government doesn't create jobs.

Clearly, Chairman Obamao fired them because they spoke truth to power and the vain Chairman could not abide such advice like "stop destroying America".

This reminds me of something I heard from Dr. Ron Paul (who is a Doctor BTW).  The good doctor said that 0bammy's problem is that he hates hard work and has never worked hard in his life.  He could never be a doctor like Dr. Ron Paul who is a doctor.

I heard on NPR that one big problem was that the "industry leaders" could only seem make recommendations that benefit their own business specifically. Most utterly lacked the ability to see beyond the end of their own nose. Since that's basically just a combination of incompetence and greed, I find the idea wholly credible.

I'm trying to think of something that the GOP has lauded Obama for, and am coming up blank. Can you think of anything? On the other hand, there is that List Of Things that are Against The GOP And Therefore America (LOTATGOPATA, did I get that right?) so yeah, they seem to complain about pretty much everything.

That sounds exactly correct, and I wasn't there or anything, but I can't imagine it having gone any other way.

Too many people in power worried about the here and now for their own sake.

If you have a laser like focus on something than you should be able to spare some face time with the group of people that are helping you with it.

Did they talk? I'm sure they did. Group meetings exist for a reason.

The White House should immediately fire back at any criticism with a statement basically saying:

So now that you think the Council is important you're going to introduce some bills implementing their recommendations, right?

So whose going to be the sponsor? Anyone? Ryan? Paul?

It was a stupid window dressing idea in the first place. We should continue to eliminate useless programs/departments instead of adding them all the time.

It seems like delegating was just fine:

Immelt's spokesman, Gary Sheffer, said Thursday that the council has not been idle in the past year-despite the lack of a public meeting or a full group meeting with Obama. The GE spokesman pointed to a series of "listening and action" events across the country where members of the council-usually one or two of them-talked about the panel's work and solicited ideas from the public.

"The Council was focused in 2012 on implementing the recommendations made in its three reports. Of the 60 recommendations for executive action, significant progress has been made on 54. Also Congress passed legislation on six recommendations made by the Council," Sheffer said in an email. Council recommendations led to administration initiatives to fast-track infrastructure projects, accelerate the processing of business and tourist visas, and a program to "look back" through existing regulations for those that are outdated and burdensome, Sheffer added. He also pointed to a series of public-private initiatives council members launched to jump start job creation.

Judging by most of the meetings I've been to, that reason is to waste time and make everybody else think you're doing things.

And none of them live in foreign countries, if it was important they could have met once in six months.

haha I was waiting for someone to come up with that. So either Obama is looking busy in those hundreds of group meeting photo ops or meetings really do matter and he just opted out of the jobs meetings. One or the other. Bad meetings are run by bad managers. The inverse is true.
