Yes, we need more Israelis in Government, that will help.

First, I always assumed that Geraldo Rivera was an actor who played a character named Geraldo Rivera on TV (like Stephen Colbert).  I never imagined that he was actually serious about Republican politics.

Second, I had no idea that Geraldo is already 69 years old.

That guy really is a never-ending bottle of douche. That kind of dedication to douchebaggery is kind of impressive, in it's own douchey way.

I'm not sure, but I don't think they let non-US citizens hold office in America.

1. Geraldo was born in the United States, and is a citizen of the United States
2. There is no citizenship requirement for Senators
3. I don't think Insatiable Jesus was trying to make a factual statement.

What the Republican party doesn't need right now are rock stars. They need solid leadership with right-thinking policies and people on the ground willing to work hard for their constituencies. This is how you grow the base.

Getting a rock star candidate like Rivera may grab a few extra votes, but unless he turns out to be an incredibly good senator, such reliance on getting big names for candidates hurts the party in the long run.

He's a rock star the same way Ricki Lake is a super model.

Let's see, a celebrity becoming a republican politician.  Could this be the rebirth of Ronald Wilson Reagan?

LOL

1) I knew that
3) I was trying to be gentle

2) Um...

Requirements to be a Senator

at least 30 years old.

a U.S. citizen for at least nine years at the time of election to the Senate.

a resident of the state one is elected to represent in the Senate.

These are the only requirements for the office that are specified in Article I, Section 3 of the Constitution.

Or was that also not intended to be a factual statement?

Well, with Wall Street fat cat Chris Christie as the NJ governor, it goes with the theme of making the full senior leadership of NJ sleazy bottom feeders.

For some reason, I was under the impression that you only had to be a natural born citizen to be President, and all the other offices were just "resident".  Well, I guess I should actually read the Constitution more often.

Geraldo is yet another shameless, attention whoring liberal who later in life tried to equivocate the error of his youth with the wisdom of his later years. Though he made his bones being a voice for you inner city liberal idiots, he now recognizes the error of his youth. Someday, you will too unless you die first!

So, as I get older, and dementia starts kicking in, and I start falling into the stereotype of those blasted kids with their music and being on my lawn, and as my mental faculties start to degrade that I can't remember if I'm wearing underwear, I'll become a Republican voter.

Got it.

Also, on behalf of the Great State of New Jersey:

Gerald Rivera, just... just go the fark away and never, ever do anything ever again. Just drive into the Pine Barrens, let yourself become one with the trees, and cease to be. Or go get the head of the Jersey Devil. Do that, you're allowed to return to society.

Because if Geraldo ran as a Libertarian, his awesomeness would make Rand Paul look like a zombie?   As a spend-and-blame Republican, not so much.   But as an Aynal Liberteranian stupendous.

Fark you, Jerry Rivers. (Yeah, "Jerry Rivers" - we remember when you were a local dumb-ass.)

You pompous, self-serving, vacuous, clueless, traitorous bastard. Everything you do is calculated to extend your 15 minutes just that one second further - my only regret is that the chair that broke your friggin' nose didn't push the fragments into your brain, and instead relegated us to more than two decades of your arrogance, bigotry, and stupidity.
