I call shenanigans, look at her chins - looks more like 16 pounds to me.

2013-01-31 09:42:38 PM
Let her hop around at catchweight after forfeiting 1/3 of her purse.

2013-01-31 09:58:44 PM
Fired over 1.6 pounds?  That is want they want you to believe.

2013-01-31 10:39:46 PM
I'm not calling her a fattie or anything, but the only way she only gained 1.6 pounds was if they were all in her neck and chin.

2013-01-31 10:46:33 PM
I am absolutely positive that she was contractually obligated to keep to a strict weight. That's the gig, she's there for her ability to move nicely in that little outfit and to look good doing it. She busted her ass to get the gig, and she blew it for some Tiramisu.

Lenz's tale about being left back has changed a bit this week. First she said the team was upset she had chosen to retire at the end of the season. But the story she told GMA on Thursday morning was that she thinks the decision to leave her home from the Super Bowl stems from a weigh-in that showed she had gained 1.6 pounds.

I'm feeling less and less sorry for her.

I'd blow a lot of things for some Tiramisu

So there you go. Ravens cheerleader Courtney Lenz is the most unlikely figure attention whore to make big news during Super Bowl week.

well, we ARE an image obsessed society.  gotta look good for the cameras after all.

2013-02-01 12:41:15 AM
1.6 lbs? If it was that low,  they'd let her re-weigh most likely since your body can fluctuate +/- 5-10 lbs on water alone

2013-02-01 12:44:58 AM
In the meantime, they wouldn't even look twice at a slightly big person to begin with, even if she could do all the moves.
This is a position where a lot is riding on looks.

wait a minute, it's the same girl from yesterday's thread:

Long-time Ravens veteran left off Super Bowl roster after announcing retirement earlier this year

except she mentioned nothing about any weight issues then (as this article also notes).

so is this a follow-up?

or is she just pissing and moaning and making sh*it up along the way, and then appearing on national talk shows to bemoan her situation.

yeah, real f*cking class act. and good luck getting back on any professional cheerleading squad in the future.

no team/organization is going to put up with that level of self-serving attention-whoring

Maybe is she removed the horrible boob implants and put on a pound less makeup, she'd make weight.

2013-02-01 01:02:08 AM
She's obviously going to be great at that full time marketing gig she landed. 25,000 signatures of protest and talk show appearances for this?

I bet cheering for the Ravens opened up many opportunities for her she wouldn't have gotten. Shame on her for heaping some controversy on the 32 girls that were fortunate enough to make the Super Bowl squad. This is just sour grapes on her part and frankly I'm not buying the weight gain story.

Yeah, and her future prospective employers in other industries will have no way of learning of all this public histrionic behavior.

This is the least sypmathetic figure I have ever seen on a sports.page.  And Barry BONDS was on many sports pages.

holy crap sweetie, you QUIT THE SQUAD, violated a bonafide occupational qualification of looking good, and then go for the double dip of trying to embarrass your squad all in the name of getting some attention.

in related news, I hope that is just a horrible picture, cause that CHIN fat weights 1.6 pounds.  (not that all of them couldnt gain 1.6 pounds and look better, but... that is not what 1.6 pounds looks like...)

/ why are the ravens not taking their full squad?  cheap bastards.

I wouldn't have chosen a lame duck, either.

Watched the video.  She's gained a lot more than 1.6 pounds.

Is 1.6 pounds statistically significant weight gain?

I wonder what the minimum combined weighing error + natural body variation is.

NFL rules. The team can only bring a certain number, don't remember exactly but it's 30 sonething. So they can't bring the whole squad.

2013-02-01 02:34:02 AM
it was nice of them to overlook the first 20 or 30 pounds she gained. there's always a tipping point, a 1.6 pounds that breaks the camel's back, or something.

The weirder thing is that they had over 30 cheerleaders to begin with.  The last estimate I heard was like 60 cheerleaders for the Ravens.  What, are some of them backup receivers?  You do not need more cheerleaders than players on the field at any given game, unless you need to distract fans from a shiatty team.

A few months ago, I lost 30 pounds in 2 months. I weighed myself several times a day and eventually made sure that my morning weight was what I should gauge myself.

My weight the rest of the day could vary by as much as 2 or 3 pounds depending on water or meals.

Even in a period of losing weight.

On hindsight, I can't even tell if it's the same girl from the 2nd picture in TFA (hot, 2011 ) from the first (average).

Is this the best news we can generate for Super Bowl week?  A (possibly overweight) cheerleader?  I hope this isn't a precursor of the game.

Most of the time, pro sports cheerleaders aren't as sexy as they look from the stands. I used to work with one here in Japan. Think about that: young Japanese pro-cheerleader. She was 22 and a solid 8-9 in the uniform. But if you saw her at work in the school where I met her you'd be like "She's okay. Decent face."

Well you don't need cheerleaders at all in the NFL, but it is weird that the NFL limits the number that can attend the Super Bowl.  Just let them all come.

Ravens and the over.

if 30 girls are cheerleaders and they can take 15. what is exactly the problem?

I'll take a stab in the dark and bet 'ol Ray could help her carve away that 1.6 pounds real quick. Just slice her caloric intake in half. He's a pretty sharp guy.

The time has come to eliminate the super bowl.

2013-02-01 07:26:17 AM
It says very clearly in the contract that their weight cant vary more than 1% during the season. That's the job. They also make minimum wage. Only the best attention whores sign up for it.

2013-02-01 07:51:00 AM
Perhaps she's from England and she was thinking 1 stone = 1 pound.  From the video and images I've seen, she's gained about 1.6 stones worth of weight.

2013-02-01 07:54:42 AM
Quits, puts on weight, then biatches that she's not one of the few on the squad going to the Super Bowl because she's been a cheerleader for (gasp!) a whopping 5 years.

She really just needs to shut up and get out of the way.

I bet it's to avoid teams handing out "cheerleader" passes to anyone and everyone they want to butter up so they can stand on the sidelines during the game.

I do not understand why she thinks anyone should give a shiat. You're an adult cheerleader, sweetheart. There is literally no less useless position you can occupy. If the worst thing that happens to you is that you don't get a free trip to New Orleans after you quit your "job" I think that's a social injustice we can all readily accept and file away under the category "Things of Literally No Importance Whatsoever".
