TheCenturion: That was a really good-natured cat. Most cats would have either bolted, or commenced a glorious slaughter.

No kidding.  I was waiting for the cat to go into Death Blossom mode.

ENOUGH!

I don't know how these horrible videos keep getting on to the site, but if the mods don't clean up the video tab soon I will pay my $5 for a Total Fark account and then demand a refund.

I prefer fights in the same weight division. Your doggie against a cougar would be more entertaining.

There's a reason dogs are pack animals: They can't go it alone.

A cougar is overkill, even a bobcat would probably fark up all but the biggest and toughest dogs.

Sorry, disagree.  Dogs are better at a straight up fight.

All a dog's muscles and violent bits are pointed forward.  Their jaw strength is incredible.  To put it in geek terms, all their resource points are devoted to forward combat.

Cats are multi-directional.  They can outjump, outstalk, and (solo) outhunt a dog.  But their resource points are spread around.  They simply don't have an attack that can do the kind of damage a dog bite can.  The cat's swat with claws may fark up a mouse, but is not going to really deter a dog intent on real violence.

A dog of equal weight will mess up a cat.

What if the cat snares and kites the dog around with a DOT? Would that work?

Incidentally, that cat seemed alright until the dogs started biting his nuts.

Wow, placid cat. I had a cat when I was a kid named Grey, the Dragonslayer... my mom named her.
Grey was an accomplished murderess, birds, squirrels, rabbits, basically anything smaller than her.
When she was a kitten a big black lab a neighbour owned decided to come sniff her stomach while
Grey was sunbathing. The dog ended up with an enraged kitten stuck to her nose by all 4 paws,
gnawing the poor dog's nose. The dog, named Bear tried to whack the kitten off with his paws,
tried scraping her off on the ground to no avail. He meekly went home with the kitten still attached
to his face. It took my mom and Bear's owner to get Grey off Bear's face.

/after she had kittens she went REALLY nuts
// removed a different dog's face for barking at her kittens

Vegan Meat Popsicle: Actually, some day they'll probably kill that cat. I had a friend who had a couple "good-natured" dogs that ganged up on their cat one day out of the blue and killed it. He went outside for a few minutes to work on the yard, heard a commotion, came in and found the cat in the back of the hallway flopping around like a dying fish because they'd cornered it and broke its back.

"Playing" in the animal world is just another word for "practicing killing".
