In a year (maybe even already) Ed Davis is the best player in this trade.
Terrible deal for the Raptors.

Lol this should be the headline. +1

/is there a bigger joke in sports than the Raptors? Seriously, if they ever had a competitive team they'd have a whole country of fans.

Which is why Brian is now going to move into phase 2 of his plan. Trading Bargs for Kevin Love. His goal is to have the most awkwardly hilarious duo name in the entire league.

As a pistons fan, i love that we are going to the offseason now with 30+ million in cap room. I hate that we will gain blow it on Ben Gordon/Charlie V type players that put us in the situation in the first place.

It's obvious that neither Paul nor Howard would be signing there and the wing options in free agency this offseason mostly aren't really all that good.  Ideally, they're smart enough this to just sign a few guys on one-year deals after others in the market overpay for guys, and bank that cap space for 2014 and/or for being able to facilitate trades.  You're way better off sucking ass than being mediocre in the NBA anyway so you get the better draft pick, and I actually don't think the Pistons would even be that bad with a few one-year schmos added to the roster.  You just really don't want to sign anyone the might hinder the development of Monroe, Drummond, Knight, etc.

This headline is just about the worst possible given the story. Even the retard from your third grade class could have done better. You suck submitter.

I agree and its already been specultated that the pieces added will be through trade. Which shouldn't be too bad. Need a PG and a SF (knight is moving to the 2).

And then sign this guy (http://basketball.realgm.com/player/Jarrett_Mann/Summary/6854) to make the trio, right?

Well the new hotness is to grab a ton of cap space and then use it to eat bad contracts from other teams while stockpiling draft picks.  See Bobcats, Cavaliers.  There's also the option of trading for terrible players/contracts AND giving away your draft picks, too.  Lookin' at you, the Nets.

@tomhaberstrohAmong 151 guys w/ 1000+ minutes, Ed Davis is 12th most valuable contract by PER/dollars this season. Rudy Gay is 148th of 151.

The Raptors are consistently terrible, but so are the Wizards and the Bobcats.  But in overall sports?  The Mets, Cubs, and Leafs are all made fun of on a routine basis.

Yes and OJ mayo had a per of 12 last year.  Sometimes environment plays a huge factor into stats

I hear Gay is looking forward to playing with the Raptors Johnson.

Amir Johnson, who plays PF for the Raptors that is.
