He was a intel specialist (IS) when enlisted and likely commissioned as a Surface Warfare Officer, then did a lat xfer to Intel.  I agree with you about his being on Linked In being odd--when I was in the Spec Ops community years ago they didn't even like us to have listed telephone numbers.  But the Daily Mail article listed a couple of jobs he's held in the private sector, and SEAL Team 18 is a Reserve team, so my guess is that he's a reservist either doing an IA to AFRICOM or has been mobilized for a year.

-I was in the Navy for a short time myself and had several years of Kempo and Kung Fu (from world champions in both, which is why I wasn't worried about some random guy beating on the door). Twice in my life, I've had to defend one of my idiot friends from multiple guys coming after them, once 3 guys, another time 5 guys (drunk frat guys both times oddly enough). -I'm not afraid of getting my ass kicked or kicking someone else's ass if necessary to defend someone I care for.

But to be honest, I had a sinking feeling in my stomach after she told me that. I even remember feeling my bowels loosen.

No Internet Tough Guy stuff here... I would never knowingly get in a fight with a Navy SEAL unless I had no choice. I thanked God that day it *wasn't* him.

If you were ever in the Navy, you know this...A ton of guys *claim* to have been SEALs in the Navy (the original internet tough guys before there was an internet types), I was initially convinced this was the case with her ex husband, but she assured me it was not, and showed me several of his pictures from the Navy. -Which is why I know she was telling the truth -guy was built like a truck.
