Fetish hardware.

What kind of beer is that in the photo?  This is important.

clearly we need to ban high-capacity beers.

2wolves: Fetish hardware.

Meh.  I think it's pretty cool as a conversation piece.  I like putting crap like that around my bar at home.

So, how tough is a .50 casing, anyway?  The brass I'm familiar with would bend before opening a beer bottle.

A friend made me a pen years ago out of a 50 BMG round. Drilled right through the bullet.

It looks pretty thick in the pic, but still.  If a .50 cal jacket is brass, this bottle opener is not going to last "years and years".  Unless you're only using to open one beer per week...

I've had one of those for over a decade. I don't remember where I got it, probably stole it from a bar or something.

It's gotta be 1/8th in thick, I mean it is REALLY tough.

I'd put a cap in my trash.

I'm going to have to buy one of these.  My wife knows a bunch of vets who like beer... this could come in handy.

I would have thought that was cool when I was 10 years old.

What waste of a casing.

Meh.  Of all the thousands of ways to open a beer bottle, this one really isn't all that interesting.  And I like guns.

This one opens 24 bottles all at once. It wins.

Brass would be a piss poor material for the design of this opener, it would most likely wear out after 50 or so uses, if it lasted that long.

This is a pretty hard and this (gettin hot in here) alloy. The one I have will last my whole life.

even if I don't have a grabber at 50.

I like it, subbs.

Thanks a pantsload!  This is why I can't find ammo for my .50 cal!

Well it needs to survive 54,800 PSI without deforming or rupturing when fired (and it has to be proofed for a lot higher than that), so I'm guessing the brass alloy used is pretty strong.

why not just use a live round if coolness is what you are after?

An amusing novelty. I thought the built in bottle openers on the bottles of beer I saw in Mexico years ago was a cool idea (forget the brand just now). Cap shaped indentation on the bottom of the bottle. Of course, here in the US, some jerk would probably sue the brewery for making it too easy for them to get dangerously drunk.

I also have gotten my money's worth out the opener on the sole of my Reef flip flops.
