Cythraul: Awww, don't let one asshole ruin your whole sports watching experience. Unless this is a sentiment that's pretty much shared by the whole organization.
Cythraul: SphericalTime: Really going to have trouble rooting for the 49ers, even though the Ravens slaughtered the Pats. May actually skip the game. We'll see.Awww, don't let one asshole ruin your whole sports watching experience. Unless this is a sentiment that's pretty much shared by the whole organization. Unless you mean that you're not keen on the 49ers for other reasons.
deanis: Cythraul: jake_lex: I hate to break it to Culliver, but it's probably pretty close to an absolute certainty that he either has a gay teammate now, or has had one at some point in his career. And he would probably respond to that with, 'as long as he kept it to himself, and not push his gay agenda around me, then that's fine.'By the way, WTF is a "gay agenda"?
Barry McCackiner: Your average dude may intellectualize the need for gay people to have the right to marry, but they don't necessarily want a bunch of gay dudes around.
Barry McCackiner: Stories like this are so stupid. Ask any joe schmoe across the country about the "gays" and you will get a similar type answer. Ask a football player and OMG THE NFL IS SO INTOLERANT AHAHAERARARARAGGHGHGHGHGHGHGH. There are 53 players on every team, most of them (like Culliver) are not used to being interviewed all of the time. The Super Bowl media days are crazy, you take players who normally have no podium and you give them access to worldwide press all day long. Eventually many of them are going to say stupid shiat. Who cares. He apologized and learned his lesson, what is he, 25? Man I still say stupid shiat and I am a 30something. Move on.
deanis: I hope his sons, if he ever has any, turn out to be the black Liberace. F him.
sigdiamond2000: A lot of professional athletes can't conceive of the idea that there can be any repercussions to things they do because they've been told from a very young age that they're better than everyone else and don't need to play by the same set of rules.
funk_soul_bubby: Artie Lange baited him into this. He took advantage of a young black male and the machismo that comes with that culture.
Orgasmatron138: Oh, and Artie Lange is a douchebag, too.
SlothB77: Did Culliver think the interview with Artie Lange wasn't being taped or that Lange wouldn't release it publicly for some reason? He had to have expected that.
kronicfeld: Almost a Workaholics simulpost. You guys must be fully torqued right now./shawnders
scottydoesntknow: Culliver's Crapology:"The derogatory comments I made yesterday were a reflection of thoughts in my head, but they are not how I feel. it has taken me seeing them in print to realize that they are hurtful and ugly. Those discriminating feelings are truly not in my heart. Further, I apologize to those who I have hurt and offended, and I pledge to learn and grow from this experience."For a guy who can barely write/speak at an elementary level, that's quite an eloquent apology
ModernPrimitive01: The Dr. Pepper "It's not for women" ads are pretty obnoxious.
Lost Thought 00: Not so much ads for the NFL so much as ads for beer, soda, GoDaddy, etc that surround it. You don't find ads anywhere near that offensive surrounding other sports
thecpt: Lost Thought 00: NFL is trying to cover it's ass on this one. Fact is, they are the greatest propogators of homophobia throughout our society. Every add involving football deals with manliness being measured by the pursuit of bikini models and punching your friends in the face.Unless its Aaron Rodgers gently placing his fingers on another dude's lips. Actually, I can't think of any commercial that you're referring too. Well other than the guys sitting around the tv/tailgate and every girl is a model. They put pretty people in their commercials like everyone else./Also, you will go from crazy cat lady to pretty lady who attends cookouts with Drew Brees.
Klippoklondike: I want to hear what Chris Kluwe has to say about it. He is very eloquent and is fantastic at verbally biatch-slapping guys like this.
sigdiamond2000: Cythraul: Awww, don't let one asshole ruin your whole sports watching experience. Unless this is a sentiment that's pretty much shared by the whole organization.I can almost guarantee you that this is a sentiment that's shared by the whole organization, and by every organization in the league. Certainly not by every player or member of the front office, and it's certainly not their official position, but it's an unspoken rule. There's a reason that not a single player has ever come out of the closet during his playing career in the history of American major professional sports, and it's not because there haven't been any gay players.
SphericalTime: Really going to have trouble rooting for the 49ers, even though the Ravens slaughtered the Pats. May actually skip the game. We'll see.
FirstNationalBastard: But the Ravens have a murderer.
