(ReadWrite)   Good news: Google Play now has about as many apps as the iOS App Store, and will probably beat it to the million-app mark. Bad news: Quantity doesn't translate to quality   (readwrite.com) divider line 6

What? but that's the exact argument apple users have been using for the last 5 years - now they are going to change it around because it does not suit them?

Say it isn't so!

bingethinker: SVenus: In other news, the Nexus 4 is back in stock at Google.  If you're on iOS, you now can have an unlocked Android phone as a spare for the price of about ten typical iTunes apps and the new Sheryl Crow album.

That's quite a deal, considering a typical iTunes app goes for 99 cents or $1.99

/average selling price of iTunes apps: $1.60

The new Sheryl Crow album runs $300.
But I hear it's pretty good.

Anyways, I'm not surprised that some Apple blog reviewed apps and said every app on iOS is better than the exact same apps running on Android. Given that Google makes 9 out of the top 10 apps and the other one is Facebook, in reality Apple is severely lacking in app quality.

Disposable Rob: Carth: iOS has better games on it but Google has more useful apps. Last time I checked Apple doesn't have anything like Nova Launcher, Smart Tools and Beautiful Widgets. Oh, SuperGNES is pretty awesome too.

Beautiful Widgets? The app that just ups and disappears every few months? I'm glad Apple doesn't have anything like that.

Widgets are not apps.

Unfortunately, Android apps can be working great one day and not at all the next. My wife generally throws her Toshiba tablet at me and says, "Fix it!" when her favorite apps go sideways. Usually, fixing it involves the next update.

So what you're saying is, you disabled app updates because you're a moron and that is Google's fault?

Yawn, just an article to start stupid phone flame wars, nothing more.  Each platform has pretty much equally great apps.  I read another article and they said a search for flashlight on iOS app store came up with 100K plus results.  I am sure just as many would show up on the Play Store.
