I was going to come here and say something about how one of the Andrews Sisters was involved with mobster Sam Giancana and then I remembered that was one of the McGuire Sisters.

Same time period I guess.

I should be sad, but with Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy playing right now I just can't help but bounce around and feel happy. That song is actually one of my earliest memories! (From watching Abbot and Costello movies on TV in the 70's.)

Sleep well Patty!

I've got my playlist for the evening all set up now.

That is sad. But they had great careers and should be celebrated.

Best version of "In The Mood" ever! :D

I've always been a big fan of their version of "Is You Is Or Is You Ain't My Baby?" with Bing Crosby. :D

Oh, and if anyone wants to majorly stock up on their music, Archive.org's Audio section has a ton of it. Just head over there and do a search. You'll find plenty. :)

No Fallout 3 references? I'm disappointed. They did the female vocals on Danny Kaye's "Civilization".

Each morning, a missionary advertise with neon sign
He tells the native population that civilization is fine
And three educated savages holler from a bamboo tree
(Eeeee! Ah-loh-kee-hah-tah-sah-nah.)
That civilization is a thing for me to see

So bongo, bongo, bongo I don't want to leave the Congo, oh-no-no-no-no-no
Bingle, bangle, bungle I'm so happy in the jungle, I refuse to go
Don't want no bright lights, false teeth, doorbells, landlords, I make it clear
That no matter how they coax him, I'll stay right here

I looked through a magazine the missionary's wife conceals
(A magazine? What happens?)
I see how people who are civilized bang you with automobiles
(You know you can get hurt that way Daniel?)
At the movies they have got to pay many coconuts to see
(What do they see Danny?)
Uncivilized pictures that the newsreel takes of me

So bongo, bongo, bongo he don't want to leave the Congo, oh no no no no no
Bingle, bangle, bungle he's so happy in the jungle, he refuse to go
Don't want no penthouse, bathtub, streetcars, taxis, noise in my ear
(So no matter how they coax him), I'll stay right here

They hurry like savages to get aboard an iron train
(The Tring-galim-bohoo-laham-bah-le) Express
And though it's smokey and it's crowded they're too civilized to complain
(Ah-lo-ke-do-ho-saw-he-ma-he-na)
When they've got two weeks vacation they hurry to vacation grounds
(What do they do Danny?)
They swim and they fish, but that's what I do all year round

So bongo, bongo, bongo I don't want to leave the Congo, oh no no no no no
Bingle, bangle, bungle I'm so happy in the jungle, I refuse to go
Don't want no jailhouse, shotguns, fish hooks, golf clubs, I got my spears
(So no matter how they coax him), I'll stay right here

They have things like the atom bomb
So I think I'll stay where I ahm
Civilization, I'll stay right here

From the AV Club:  They also had 113 songs make the  Billboardcharts, including 46 that landed in the Top 10-more than either  Elvis Presley or The Beatles ever had.

Pretty impressive.

As long as we're all sharing, something quite entertaining from some of the most talented performing acts ever to live:  You Don't Have To Know The Language with the sisters, Bing & Bob from The Road to Rio.

The ladies might not have been blessed with the greatest looks, but damn could they sing (and could move a little, too).
