Eh... it's unquestionably more practical than most college classes. Those students will be using that info more than anything they learned in Creative Writing.

That's the level of idiocy I have come to expect for a National Review writer.

Would have been more useful to me than that pottery making course I took my senior year of college.

Though it was fun to bring a vase or flower pot to a teacher while whispering loudly "hey teach, I brought you some pot."

There is no minimum age set for attendees and, organizers say, it is open to both men and women.

Giggity.

It's another reflection of the arrogance of those in publicly-supported "ivory towers" who think they can do whatever it is they want with the taxpayers' money.

The hard working mothers and fathers who are paying the bills for their children's college education

He really doesn't seem sure whose money to be outraged about.

no. we all know there is no such thing as a female orgasm

Will listing "Is able to achieve/help a woman achieve more and greater orgasms" on a resume really help a person get hired-especially during Barack Obama's anemic, jobless recovery.

And there we have the obligatory dig at Obama. DRINK!

Q: How can you tell when a woman is having an orgasm?

A: Who cares!

Nope. Just an angry editorial.

Most college freshman know more about advanced astrophysics than this particular topic, so I can see how this could actually be truly useful and educational.

Women orgasm????

<i>It's not a question of "prudishness"</i>

The fact that you felt obligated to put prudishness in quotes most assuredly tells everyone that you, sir, are a prude.

You know, I joke around about some of the dumb asses shiat that passes for a college class now days, but even I would have signed up for that class.

Conducting the workshop will be two apparently self-described "sex educators" who, and this is the frightening part, have conducted similar programs at colleges and universities across the United States.

frightening?
I am not sure that word means what you think it means.

ROFL
the war on women continues unabated.

Oh, no, not <i>slightly more than the average faculty lunch function</i> in wasted funds.

The HORROR.

When I was in school we all had some student activity fund that was made up of like $50 from each student.  That paid for all sorts of random stuff

2013-01-30 07:05:17 PM
When I was in college, many, many years ago, my school spent something like $25000 for a sculpture they put on the lawn of the administration building, and at the same time were cancelling classes, due to "budgetary problems". Yet, this guy's going to complain about them spending $3500 for a class that might actually be useful?

Ah modern conservatism, it never fails to become outraged if it has the sneaking suspicion that someone, somewhere is having fun.

The important thing is that the money is the real victim here.

Schools sometimes pay money for lectures/extracurriculars/whatnot. As far as these things go, this hardly seems outrageous. Off the top of my head, I remember Dnesh Dsouza (sp?) and Timothy Leary spoke at my college. So did Bob Marley's widow. All three sucked and likely got paid a lot more.

So, should only women go? Wouldn't that lead some women into the dirty, dirty world of lesbian sex?

He's wrong on both accounts.

Student sponsored function using student fee generated funds and taking place in the student center. (No tax $).

IMHO, "it's not a question of 'prudishness'" is right up there with "I'm not racist, but..." on the list of phrases that mean the opposite of what they say.

"It's not a question of 'prudishness' or the idea that people are uncomfortable with discussions of human sexuality in public."

Actually, it kind of is. Is this course frivolous? Sure. Is the writer as worked up about, say "Rocks for Jocks" courses and similar sanctioned wastes of time and space? How about fraternities? I doubt it. What is he saying here? Public universities must only offer serious, career-promoting courses! Students are not allowed to have fun! That's not what they're there for! Keep your nose out of my business, but I have the right to stick mine in yours because a frac5tion of my taxes went to pay for this course of which I disapprove! Waah!

You know subby, I actually figured it was going to be A this time. I mean, the republican party literally cannot go a month without making some idiotic remark about rape anymore, so I kinda figured that one was easy.

Should have remembered that it's always C....
