Ivo Shandor: unyon: For the uninitiated, in order to be RRSP eligible (Canadian version of 401(k)), mutual funds have to have a percentage of Canadian holdings.

The RRSP foreign-content restriction was removed in 2005.

I know.  And I kinda figured someone would bust me for it, too, but I was trying to eliminate as much unnecessary complexity from my explanation as possible.  Trust me, if you hold any tech, growth, or Canadian index fund, you most assuredly have a piece of Blackberry.

And for us old farts, its somewhat irrelevant- most of our investments predate 2005, and fund managers have held on to RIM regardless of the Cancon change.

But yes, you're technically correct.  And that truly is the best kind of correct.

I submitted the "RIM JOB" loss headline.... with the first round of job losses that Research in Motion went through... like 2 years ago.

Never went green.

Now I see headline after headline with this joke.

/still bitter
//got nothin'
///no one cares, I know.

Donnchadha: Does this mean no more "RIM job" headlines too?

Nahh, because it will not take the form of the past tense and submitters will have to be craftier (vs just phoning it in). For example.

"Laid off Blackberry workers wish for the old days when they still had RIM Jobs."

gopher321: bk3k: Bravo on the headline

Oh, as if it hasn't been submitted 1000x before...

So you're saying it's a repeat RIM job?

As a stockholder, I really wish they'd spend more time on product development and less time rearranging deck chairs on the titanic.
