MagicMissile: rattchett: MagicMissile: Alabama is as far from Nazi Germany as you can possibly get. Alabama is full of the kind of Americans that had the balls to go over to Germany and fight the Nazis in the first place.

If you want a good comparison to Nazi Germany, then New York and California are two that come to mind. Hitler was all about socialism and removing freedom, as well as giving a small ruling socialist party a terrifying iron fisted control over the masses.

So yeah, New York with its "you cant drink a soda pop, own a gun, knife, sharp pencil, stick, sneeze wrong, chew gum, breathe, you are under arrest for existing" mentality is much closer to Nazi Germany.

Senator Dianne Feinstein is definitely a Nazi as well. A drooling and retarded Nazi, granted.

Look, we get that you don't like liberals and you think their ideas are repugnant. But until liberals start rounding people up, putting them in camps, and shooting and gassing them, comparing them to Nazis makes you an idiot of the sort Hitler would have gassed.

Whose we.... the voices in your head? Your imaginary friends? I didn't mention liberal once in my post, this shows that you know what I said is correct when applied to liberals, because you made a subconscious connection all on your own.

But anyway... what is more foolish.

Calling people who stand up for American rights Nazis? ( this makes absolutely no sense and whoever suggests this should be beaten with a bamboo cane in public like they do in Singapore )

Or calling people who are removing freedom, expanding government, expanding police, giving police special powers, attempting to disarm the United States, signing bills that authorize Martial law and indefinite detention, declaration of the right to assassinate American citizens without due process, tearing down Christianity and declaring it the worst form of evil on the planet, and spitting hatred, violent threats and bile at any who dare to confront them..... Nazis?

Because this one ^^^^^^  is doing all of that and more under the "liberal and democrat" flag.

Number one, it was the royal "we".

Number two, my imaginary friends are all staunch christian libertarians who think you're awesome, especially Creepy Steve, who also thinks you're dreamy.

Number three, comparing American politicians with the Nazis is pretty lame. I wish you could travel back in time to 1944 Germany, or better yet Auchewitz, so you could see the huge difference. We're pretty sure you would be happy to live in California after that field trip. Remember, banning biggie soft drinks is not the same as the Holocaust.

Whatever your rationale for your dislike of certain politicians or their beliefs, your comparison is not apt. It is hysterical and silly.

Number four, people will have different opinions than you. That's okay. Your intolerance for differing opinions makes you sound like a farking Nazi or something.

Number eleven, many of the facts you've cited in support of your opinion aren't facts, they're fears. There is a big difference.

In conclusion, labelling anyone with whom you disagree a Nazi is intellectually lazy and cheap. Call them totalitarian if you feel it's apt. Say they have dictatorial aspirations and that they're trying to rob you of your freedoms. Then your readers won't think you're ignorant and intellectually lazy.

You didn't specifically mention "liberals", you simply claimed two of the most liberal states in the U.S. are totalitarian dictatorships. Also, learn your history. Having "socialist" in the name doesn't make it so. Sort of like how any group with "family" in the name is more likely to be a homophobic hate group than genuinely interested in families. The Nazis were socialist in the same way that limestone is an F-15. They gained power because the established government at the time was afraid of communists and tried to use Hitler as a rallying point for the center and right, which didn't work out so well. Showing off your blatant ignorance of history in an attempt to smear people you don't like or to incite an atmosphere of fear is idiotic and childish.

You also seem to be confusing reality with what spews forth from Fox "News" every day. I don't have the patience to walk you through how your assertions about "things the left does that make them like Nazis" are not based in reality, so I'll just let you know you're wrong and suggest diversifying your news intake a little. Go yell about freedom and 'Murrica at your neighbors instead of spreading your lunacy here.

Calling people who stand up for American rights Nazis? ( this makes absolutely no sense

*not sure if serious*

Or maybe:

"You know who else was just standing up for the rights of his compatriots?"

But now enough about the US overreaction to 9/11...

/ you would have to replace Christians with Muslims
// well, and the Nazis were more about relaxing gun control laws for law-abiding citizens than about disarming them; but I guess not renewing the assault rifle ban hardly counts as disarmament
/// love the couple of things that the wording of right to assassinate American citizens without due process implies

Ego edo infantia cattus: WOW. Did anyone catch the two parts of the law that the courts struck down?

They wanted transporting and housing an illegal immigrant to be a crime.

Sounds strangely familiar...

How can you possibly draw a parallel to this? Wow yourself.

Btw - the operative word is ILLEGAL...last I heard aiding and abedding was just as much against the law as anything else.

This Noriega guy is a tool...I wonder if subby actually RTFA.

Fine, we'll keep on with the "Northeastern Communist" / "Left wing California surfer kook" bullshiat.

And MagicMissle is correct, the left is far more totalitarian than the right is. By leaps and bounds. Just remember, it was the eugenics laws passed by the Progressives in California that the Nazis took inspiration from.* Oh those wonderful Progressives, it took 100 years for the stain of that ideology to not be an automatic disqualifier for someone's political career. And hopefully after this little dabble with statism we're going through now, it'll go away for another 100 years.

Because banning gays, women, anyone who is not a white male Christian from doing anything is so much better. Don't forget having control over someone's body and bedroom. Also, if you share anything with anyone you are a Socialist Communist traitor.

Hey Zepplin, you aren't generalistic enough...try harder next time.

People like this don't realize they're sabotaging their own cause. A particular immigration law may be wrong, but comparing it to people being marched to the gas chambers and bulldozed into mass graves is insulting in every way imaginable, and it ultimately turns people off to your message.

Many are. I'm of German descent and live in Michigan, but my family left HRE almost 150 years before Hitler was even born.
