dk47: moothemagiccow: I don't know if you could suck more than samsung

hey let's make the screen bigger
-what'll we do next year?
more bigger!

Either smartphones all suck, samsung sucks or I keep buying duds. Also you can't type on these farking things

I hate my GS3, battery lasts about 8 hours. Should have just kept my E71x and gone off contract. I used to love how iphone people would tell me I didn't have a smartphone. Let's see... email, gps, wifi, google maps, internet browser how don't I have a smartphone? Keyboard was awesome on that thing.

download juice defender, it will tell you what apps are using your  juice, and shut them down, it will condition your battery, etc, and you will get about 12-20 out of it, without all the ancillary stuff running.

No they're not, but it is after all a phone. If you need to do a lot of typing you need a bluetooth keyboard or else use a proper computer.

It's the farking screen. All those pixels murder the thing. Constantly checking for wi-fi so you don't dare use your data allowance doesn't help either.

Actually it appears to be an issue with Android somehow not playing nice with certain stuff put on by certain carriers and how it all runs together.

Honestly, Samsung sucks at pretty much everything. Those were not duds.  They've made their way onto my do not buy list and I recommend to anyone who will listen to stay away from Samsung products.

I lol at the apple commercial with the Williams sisters playing ping pong. The commercial is all excited about a feature that BB has had for 5 years called bedside mode.

Ill be moving back to BB from iOS in March.

iOS is now the oldest OS in the market.

And there ya go, the Apple fanboys can now go sit in a corner somewhere and have that wet dream about having a function on their iPhones that's standard on a BB.

Smartphones out of the box come with tons of apps and everything turned on by default.  I can go two days of use on my S2 skyrocket, and juice defender works quite nicely.

I think we have a troll on our hands.

I love when things get escalated to me as a tech manager at one of the nations largest cell phone carriers and people say"my iphone android gets crappy life, i have my blue tooth, gps, wifi, all running at the same time, and I am sitting in my living room and I do not want to turn any of them off".

I have a few. Not as many as iOS or Android users, but eh, I get by.

My phone doesn't shiat out on me though, and battery life isn't something I have to install a manager for.

Actually, I run very few apps, and I  dont have it checking facebook all the time, juice defender will tell you what is using what on the phone, and how often you actually use it, and you can either schedule it or just shut it down completely.  It also uses location services to turn the gps on and off to see where you are if the phone is detected moving.  it turns wifi on and cell data off at my house, and when not there wifi off, cel data on, and everything off but the ability to make calls and receive texts when i am at the office.

I have a nokia e61 when i am traveling outside the us when i need long battery life and i dont need all the bells and whistles of my s2, but with the app that gives me complete control over the phone, i can really just carry my s2.

There is always room for more cool.

Corel is still solidly in business, and in the black...

Corel is owned by Vector Capital, a firm out of San Francisco. And the majority of its products it has acquired are also American companies, and a chinese one or two in the mix.

In reality it is just located in Canada and is about 90 percent American.

Also I have a copy of Novell Wordperfect when Novell bought them the first time they tanked, by order of the Mormon chrch.

Cooper420: Funny headline but it isn't true.

They're not only on par with Apple and Google now, they've raised the bar.

Sadly, almost 200 Million shares of RIMM were traded so far today due to many many investors pulling out the 3-4x earnings on their investments from back in the early winter.

BlackBerry isn't going anywhere. Can't wait for my new BB10 next week!

Wut? Up 3 to 4 times from the early winter? It has had a nice little bump, but more like 40% than 400%.

And widely traded stocks don't go down 12% because of profit taking. They go down that much because they disappoint in some manner.

Just looked the new phones up, they're trying to pull an Apple and use mid 2012 high-end chipsets and screen resolutions on mid 2013 phone releases.

Not going to happen, by mid 2013 we'll be looking at more quads with 1920x1080 phones at the same relative release price, because high end BBs were always incredibly out of touch.

Hell, our company still has the BB Torch in the system at a higher price than the iPhone 5 16GB,

Be careful. I ran that for a while, and it worked great. But after the ICS update it totally screwed my phone up. Hot battery, restarting for no reason, etc.
And then after uninstalling, and with the ICS update, I found that I didn't need it anymore anyway.

What is that mass of black square raised bumps near the bottom with white marks on them? Why is the screen so small, don't they know that all a smartphone has to be is screen? Touch screen keyboards are superior in every way, and anyone who says otherwise is just scared of change. There, I said it.

RIM and Apple got old, stale, and complacent, while Samsung continued to innovate.  Samsung was the first maker to offer multi-core smart phones and stylus-enabled "phablets" to consumers.  And they will be the first to offer beveled and even flexible OLED screens and there will be some extremely cool things that become possible.

I don't see how "bigger" and "newer processors" are innovations. Maybe they're hardware innovations. Adding a phone app to a small tablet is not an innovation.

Like what? Samsung itself is baffled as to how to demonstrate the  benefits of OLED.

It's an innovation when no one else is doing it. And in that CES video, I thought that Samsung did a great job demonstrating flexible OLED.

Looks like LG might be in the running. My Nexus 4 has been incredible for me. Coming from HTC, which was great too. I think the contracted phones are handicapped more than I think mfgrs are screwing up.

Agreed. I had a Nexus One for about 3 years (just died) and I loved it. Not loaded up with crap, just did what I wanted it to do and did it well. Sure by the end it was pretty dated, but it served me well.
